I showed up after reserving my car and was told there was only a smaller car available. I was told the cost would remain the same despite the car being a small SUV. I cancelled my reservation and immediately went to Avis who gave me a larger SUV at a less price than I even paid originally. I will NEVER be using Budget again.Reviewed 10 Aug 2024

The car we were provided was amazing! (They upgraded us to an SUV) It was so easy to pick up and drop off. The customer service was so good. Quick and painless. The only thing that could be improved was the cleanliness of the vehicle. It had some crumbs on the seats and a spilled ice cream mark on the back seat. This has never happened before so I am assuming that they just had a ton of rentals back to back during the busy stampede week. The car was excellent and in excellent condition, but there were a lot of hidden fees that the company kept silent about. When choosing a car, the price on the website was $68 for two days, with hidden fees they charged $412 for two days. This is not pleasant, the company must inform customers about hidden fees. My arriving flight was delayed by a few minutes. Then, for no obvious reason, we waited 30 minutes to get our checked luggage. I was 15 minutes past the ‘pickup time’ that I had entered on kayak, and the desk was closed. After a frustrating call to the Budget Call Center, I was told the airport location closed at the exact time I had booked the pickup for, and there was nothing they could do for me. A warning when I booked it and/or a call or text before they closed up for the night would’ve saved me a lot of middle-of-the-night frustration at the airport.Reviewed 29 Apr 2024
