Not being familiar with Maui, I didn't realize there was more than one Hertz location in Kahului so it would have been helpful for that to be more apparent when booking. The agent at the airport Hertz was VERY RUDE when I showed up there. The agent at the hotel where the car was located, was WONDERFUL and I would book again based on his customer service.Reviewed 29 Sep. 2022

The car’s dashboard system said an oil change was needed when I started the car, but the staff said that Hertz has a different idea of how frequently the oil needs to be changed than Nissan does, so we drove for 10 days in a car that needed an oil change. It felt a little unsettling, but nothing bad seemed to happen. As an after thought, I would have taken a pic of the dashboard in case something had happened and Hertz tried to pin it on our usage.Reviewed 20 Sep. 2022

When searching for airport pickups there is no clarity when a pickup is OFF SITE from the actual airport, and when discovering This after standing in a long airport queue to pick up a car, then being told There is nothing they can do since it is prepaid. Please clearly designate when an airport search for a car rental is offsite! I was traveling with two small children under three and this created nothing short of a crisis. Hertz did NOTHING to support or ameliorate this situation. Finally our car had an ant problem - There appears to be a modest and colony living outside the driver side doorReviewed 17 Sep. 2022

Pick-up and drop off not as advertised! I selected Kahului airport but was unpleasantly surprised to find after half hour of searching that pick-up was actually 3 miles away at Maui Beach Hotel ! cost another $20 for taxi there. Staff at hotel Hertz was very nice. Car a little shabby but performed great, no complaints except spending an extra hour out of my limited vacation time figuring this out. More nasty surprise was additional $75 fee if I returned car to the airport. Had to add time to departure to go back to hotel to return car. Once again staff very nice! Super nice hotel shuttle bus driver offered to drive us to airport, very nice!! Wont use Hertz next time.Reviewed 16 Sep. 2022
