Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Cancelled 30 minute flight up to Vancouver which reaulted in missed flight to Australia. Air Canada the refused to put us on another flight. Went round and round for 5 hours with Air Canada until they finally put us on 3 separate flights getting to our deatination almost 48 hours late.Horrible"
Cons: "Notify passengers if short flight has more than 20% chance of being cancelled. We could have easily driven to Vancouver. If flight is cancelled, then own up to it and put people on next flight."
Pros: "Zone boarding"
Cons: "Very hot terminal quite sweaty"
Pros: "Thank goodness there was lots of room on this plane, makes it much nicer"
Cons: "Old plane, and business class is just ok. So sad that Air Canada is only flying this route with Rouge... they just are ok. Boarding was a gong show - they blocked off the area with little posts to keep people organized and were boarding a big flight to Tokyo right beside us. Horrible."
Pros: "Politeness of crew. The employee at Toronto was able to change my middle seat to aisle as requested. My original seat was aisle but it was changed and I found out in Boston."
Cons: "That it was cramped. I was on a 4seat row, aisle, but I had the man next to me encroaching on my leg and arm space"
Pros: "Smooth from beginning to end, from checking bags, boarding and exiting. The crew was very pleasant and professional and I liked the option to watch movies on the trip"
Cons: "I paid for wifi and it didn't really work"
Pros: "TV in seat, new plane. I liked nothing else about this crappy airline."
Cons: "Delayed because they couldn't fit the luggage on the plane, had to pay extra for my family to sit together, worst service ever on board, the slowest old ladies pushing the cart, 90 minutes late in perfect weather, took forever to get the baggage."
Cons: "The airline crew keep on pushing back the departure due to bad weather. No discipline while boarding passengers. Delay after landing to open the door. No clear instructions about the delays"
Pros: "Flight wasn't crowded and it was a quiet flight."
Cons: "Flight was delayed an hour, but baggage arrived fine."
Cons: "Again in the flight back delay for one hour and half in Geneva Even Kayak are not update with flight and just send automate emails for nothing for no actions"
Pros: "Clean, friendly crew remembered how we had our tea/coffee from the earlier service"
Cons: "Economy is never very comfortable but was better than a lot of other airlines"
Pros: "Entertainment unit and comfort were standard 5/5 for both"
Cons: "Boarding a massive 777 is difficult but some how other airlines do it smoother. Not sure how boarding 3 zones at once makes sense, which created a long que. Plus a delayed plane didn’t help the matter Unnecessary comments by one crew member while passengers were putting away their luggage were over heard and provided no value to the situations. Cup of noodles and a 3 tiny pieces of beef plate were provided for dinner which was very disappointing. While a typical egg breakfast and snack were also provided. Hot beverages were generally not served due to turbulence and water service during the 12hr flight was minimal."
Pros: "Once on plane all OK"
Cons: "Check in unhelpful to being rude by ignoring people and avoiding getting advice from higher ups. Worst service I Have experienced in 60 years of air flight three times a year ,at least"
Pros: "Friendly crew, onboard food was fairly decent and an okay price."
Cons: "Even a “preferred” seat on Rouge (27E, bulkhead on B767-300ER) has no legroom. This, combined with a short and low seat cushion means a dead butt. I’m only 5’11” too."
Pros: "I was reading so much about how cramped and uncomfortable the seats on Air Canadas 787's, but I don't think their product is any worse than most other economy class products out there."
Cons: "Their "continental breakfast" was a dry piece of banana bread and yoghurt. No jam, butter cheese or other spreads to compliment with your bread. Most disappointing "continental breakfast" I have had on a plane!"
Pros: "good to have 3 meals for this long haul flight"
Cons: "Flight delay more than 1 hour ! Took very very long to board Poor choice of movie. Too few, Too old"
Pros: "Excellent service in business class: attentive, cordial, not intrusive."
Cons: "Incredibly disorganized"
Pros: "The crew were polite and friendly."
Cons: "It was a 3-hour flight, so there was no entertainment."
Cons: "For an overnight flight I would have expected the lights to be turned off, or at least dimmed. My plan to sleep and enjoy my day of return did not go ask planned."
Cons: "First it was delayed because of the aircraft, then it was delayed some more because of the bags on the plane but no passengers - bag owners . Then it was delayed because the ramp crew could not be found to remove the bags. Then it was delayed because of the weather ..."
Cons: "The flight was an hour late!"
Pros: "The people at Air Canada were friendly and clear with what was going on."
Cons: "Flight was delayed even though the plane was at the gate."
Cons: "The landing"
Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable, too hard not enough recline. Not enough food considering we paid alot"
Cons: "Why the hell do I have to pay just to have a snack? I already bought a ticket and I can't even get complementary peanuts?"
Cons: "Due to icy weather we missed our flight from Montreal to Las Vegas Wed Jan 4. Could they not have waited for the delayed flight from Ottawa to facilitate this connection? Many people had to wait overnight in the plastic airport chairs until the next flight at 8am Thurs Jan 5th. At that late hour could not the lights be slightly dimmed, the heavy beat pop music loop discontinued, and a dispensary machine with water, coffee or tea be in the departure area? There was none and the other shops had closed. It was overly bright, noisy and impossible to stretch out on the seats with rigid dividers."
Pros: "The Air Canada staff in Austin was wonderful. The flights from Ottawa to Toronto and back were fine."
Cons: "Problems that were, to be sure, not entirely the airline's fault. The trip from Toronto to Austin was delayed because someone had taken the flight attendant's bag from the overhead. We had to wait until either the bag was recovered or a new flight attendant was brought in. On the return flight, the first officer had ruptured her eardrum, and the plane could not leave Austin until a new pilot was flown in from Toronto. It took hours for the airline to arrange for hotel rooms. The airline then offered vouchers when we arrived in Toronto, but their representative brought enough for only about 2/3 of the passengers."
Pros: "I survived the flight"
Cons: "The conditions of the plane were terrible. The plane was old and very cramped with sagging seats so close together I could feel the persons knees behind me. There were no screens for entertainment. The food was horrible, and there was no option to buy anything better. The flight attendants were slow with service and even slower to pick up trash. The 2 bathrooms in the back of the plane were dirty and old."
Cons: "I couldn't check in early on line because my original flight was cancelled but the notice came out after early check in started. The seats also seemed more narrow than other airlines (even after I paid to get a seat (a result of not being able to check in early)"
Cons: "And I paid for the preferred upgrade"
Pros: "It was a quick flight"
Cons: "The attendants on the flight were very unprofessional - they laughed the entire time during our boarding and safety demo. They were more interested in talking to the ground crew outside then welcoming the guests on their flight."
Pros: "Crew was super nice. Free entertainment even though the flight was only three hours."
Cons: "Small, cramped plane with no free snacks."
Pros: "Got upgrade"
Cons: "Delayed 1 hour , totally full"
Pros: "The food was decent and the snack was good too -- a small hot pizza."
Pros: "Different announcements for boarding occurred almost simultaneously, making it hard to understand what was being said."
Pros: "Same plane as the one I flew on the way to Toronto. It's a really nice plane."
Pros: "At $320usd per person per direction, you can't beat the price thanks to whatever magical gremlins Kayaks employs to fix prices for them...we flew Air Canada and we'e very pleased with their fleets new addition of 787 dream liners. Do yourself a favor and find a flight on this aircraft. From takeoff to landing, there was never a question about our safety and comfort, and the sleek, organic aesthetic of the dream liner somehow met a new standard for both ergonomy and tech/entertainment. I especially found the sub ports in my personal screen useful."
Cons: "Transatlantic flights are too long. Hurry up Science, magic me up some low earth orbit/sonic+ future jets already...Jaesus..."
Cons: "AC Ticket attendants were unbelievably rude."
Cons: "Flight departing Toronto to Amsterdam was cancelled without adequate compensation. Flight was supposed to depart at 8:45. Was delayed repeatedly then cancelled at 11pm. Air canada wasn't able to get us a hotel voucher until 1:45 am and hotel check in at 2 am. Complete disruption of travel plans. Customer service at Toronto airport was terrible."
Pros: "Very smooth landing!"
Cons: "PA volume was bit loud"
Cons: "Squeezed in like sardines. Nickled and dimed at every turn."
Cons: "My bags were lost and no one would give me contact information for how to track them down. The only number I was give has not had anyone answer after I have called many times over the last several hours"
Cons: "The security at the airport kept calling me a prostitute and verbally harassed me at the secondary inspection room. They looked down on my because I'm an orphan. Plus my luggage got lost as soon as I landed on Vegas, the staff were rude to me and gave me attitude."
Cons: "My original flight was cancelled due to mechanical problems and then agent got me in a other flight to Newark which was the last one to NY and then there was a delay of at least 1hr to take off. Most likely, I will not travel with air canada again and I'm not recommending to friends since they are always delay with their flights."
Cons: "Flight got cancelled and no alternative arrangements made Worst thing the guy at front desk did not even announce the cancellation and subsequent impact Poor customer service"
Pros: "The crew was very nice and friendly and the flight was smooth and short."
Cons: "During boarding, there were too many passengers for seats, so one woman had to leave the plane. Also, 8 people (on this very small flight of maybe 16-18 total passengers) did not get their luggage, including me. They said it would likely be several days before I could get my bag back, which is unfortunate because it contains most of my clothes, my glasses, and all of my toiletries, so I'm going to have to go buy some new ones while I wait for my bag to come home."
