Cons: "The real reason for the negative review is a combination of the cost of this flight, loss of my baggage and poor service after the flight. I paid nearly $4,500 for an economy ticket from New York to New Delhi. The first leg of the flight, from New York to Zurich was delayed long enough that I made my connecting flight to Delhi within seconds of them closing the gate and as a result my baggage was lost. Once I got to Delhi I had to take a connecting flight to Goa and then drive an hour to my destination, where I was attending a good friend's wedding. All of my baggage was lost during transit by the airline, and unfortunately they never delivered by baggage to my hotel...so I was without formal clothes and normal clothes for the wedding for 4 days. The customer service line was no help, and the airline refused to deliver the baggage to me...the closest they would bring it was the Goa airport which was an hour and a half away."

I called again and was told the seats are changed and I can’t do anything anymore. The return flight seats also disappeared from the reservation. I had also paid for it. The support staff when I called again put back the seats for my return flight. I tried to check in online. Not working. Tried at least 50 times. Not working. Called the support staff. They told me to call the check in support center. I called the check in support center at least 50 times where mi was told the staff are busy and could not answer the call. I called at 6:00am next day where I was told by the check in support staff that my ticket had an issue which they did not know exactly what was the issue but prevented me to do a check in. I drove more than 2 hours to the airport where finally I could check in but I was told that my return flight seats had disappeared again. They managed to put them back again. I hope this time it’s finally ok. The support staff on the phone told me I could get reimbursed for the seat reservation I had paid for for the on going flight. The Swiss staff at the airport told me there would be no refund. Swiss is terrible"

Cons: "Food service was pay only on a 3.5 hour flight. This meant there was a good cart blocking the aisle THE ENTIRE FLIGHT! Nobody could get by to use the bathroom or to walk around. There was almost always two people in each direction blocked by the cart. From what I could observe, the cart wasn’t even stocked with the items people were ordering, as a flight attendant was CONSTANTLY running back and forth to the galley to get items that weren’t on the cart! The setup of this food service was HORRIFIC even for me who didn’t order anything. They never even were able to take orders from everyone- never even asked if I wanted anything. I don’t think I will fly British Airways again."

Unfortunately, the French issued a year ago the following rule: to enter France, the foreign passport must not expire at least 3 months after the return date. British Airways let us fly to London, explaining this to us, how it would be on us if there were problems further down, and that we would have to get our luggage in London. We chose to fly thinking it would be OK, we had listened to an online person who had had the same problem and the French later told him they would have let him in, also I am myself a dual citizen of France and the US, plus I am autistic, an invisible disability (in my case) that makes it impossible for me to travel alone. I usually do not even say it since not much is understood -by those who do not have it- on how to accommodate it However in London BA did not allow my partner to go on. Due to the fact yesterday was Easter Monday, the American consulate in London was closed. We have spent the night in a nearby motel and now, the next day, I am waiting alone back at the airport with our 2 large suitcases while my partner is at the American consulate. We are poor, do not have phone, currency or charger for England, and I do not do well with stress, so it is difficult. Now we cannot easily reach one another. We hope to be able to fly on a standby basis (that's what BA told us we could hopefully do) later today. Sorry for this long letter, I hope it does not bore whoever reads it (if it is even read :). Got back on and said we would be leaving shortly. In all we say on the plane over 3 hours prior to take off. Never flying with your company again. Easily the worst experience flying ever."

Cons: "The pilot arrived late because he went for a Tim Horton's coffee (I know that because I was in first row and I heard the flight attendants talking about that). Then, after he finally arrived with a tray full of coffees, there was an issue with the jet's computer and had to reset it and we had to wait even more. When we finally arrived, our Gate was taken by other plane already and we had to wait (more) for the first one to be available for us. Then, when we finally got our Gate, there was another issue, now with the "finger". They weren't able to move it and connect it to the plane to get off of it. So we had to wait AGAIN. And finally as soon as we got off the plane, they were supposed to give us our carry ons on the aisle (Because it was a small plane CR700) , but again, we had to wait almost 10 minutes so that they could send the luggage... To make things worse, I had a first class ticket and I couldn't get the perks of it at the airport. Because they said I wasn't flying in an international flight. Come on?! Canada->USA->Mexico is not International??? You lost me AA."

It was boarding time and no agent was at the gate. 10 minutes past boarding time the screen shows that the flight is delayed 25 minutes... but wait, there is still no plane at the gate! After 45 minutes the plane arrived, again had to be "cleaned" and prepared for flight back to SF. Customers were told the flight was delayed because Air Traffic Control issues in SF, but there was no plane in sight... Again I felt we were being lied to. The plane was filthy with garbage everywhere still. I will never fly American Airlines by choice!"

Cons: "I didn't like that American Airlines had not staffed our flight, so we waited for 4.5 hours for a flight attendant who would be able to complete the flight crew so we could leave. They kept delaying the flight, 5 minutes at a time, for 4.5 hours. It flew out of LGA, it was a 9pm flight. The airport food sources were closed, and AA kept us until 1am-- no food, no internet, and, because LGA has terrible cell reception, no phone service. Once we got on the plane, everyone was really hungry, and the plane had no snacks. No entertainment because the TV system was broken. It was just a miserable experience. I regret trying to save $20 by booking that flight. I have had nothing but terrile experiences on American Airlines-- NEVER AGAIN."

Cons: "Boarding was a mess - I couldn't distinguish the line and elbow my way to the front before the gate agent called the two boarding groups behind me."

Pros: "The only thing to like was arriving on time."
Cons: "Paid extra for priority boarding, that was a mistake. We got boarding group one but by the time all the families with kids, first class, and frequent flyers went ahead of us they called all remaining groups together. Forget about overhead space left over, we had to gate check carry on. Seats were very uncomfortable, no room under the seat because of a big metal box for power outlets. No leg room, sat shoulders and thighs touching with neighbors. No meal service, just drinks and pretzels, luckily we ate before departure. Never again!"

Pros: "We arrived safely. Flights were on time and the staff were professional and friendly even though they had to deal with awful passengers. In flight entertainment worked well."
Cons: "The boarding process is stressful. The monitors at the gate do not indicate which groups have been called and are allowed to board, so everyone just crowds up at the gate, you can't hear what's being announced and it's messy. It would be so helpful and efficient it was clearly displayed which groups have been called to board. I don't know why all airlines don't implement this. We were also made to check our carry on at the gate and when we got on the plane there was enough space in the overhead, which was a bit annoying."

As we all know, a lot of passengers board with much more than one carry-on, which is a plague when boarding."
