Despite the captain announcing that WIFI Internet was available for purchase. There was no WIFI on this aircraft. I am a tech guy. The flight attendant said just use your credit card. NO there was no WIFI available."

Cons: "The day was extended by 10 hours. It seemed like each time I was redirected including the added flight to Ottawa I was set up to miss a flight. I was sent to Ottawa because there wasn't enough oxygen on the flight to Toronto. 15 passengers missed our flight to Toronto because we left Fredericton late which put us on a new flight 2 hours later, that had mechanical issues so again a missed flight. I am happy they do their due diligence with safety, but it created a long day. They also had to stop food service before they got to me so I wasn't able to get food."

I asked the rep at the gate to please have an aisle seat but she asked me to wait as she will call my name for seat assignments later. As I waited like she called many names and not mine, i again reminded her that she didnt call mine and she then just gave me my boarding pass without even apologizing that shr had put me in a middle seat. I told her i cant sit im a middle seat i need am aisle because I go to the bathroom often. she coldly said. "no more aisle seats". bad experience with ground staff in general as this is not the first time."

Cons: "The flight kept getting delayed bc of mechanical problems, and then eventually cancelled. They got the majority of people on a new plane, but the gates kept getting changed so it was a lot of back and forth. Plus the pretzels they gave us were stale. This was the second of two flights I took this trip that had mechanical issues, so they obviously need to fix their planes better or get new ones, because two Air Canada flights in one day that have mechanical problems leaves me worried that the planes aren't in optimal condition. It took me over 24 hours to get from Tucson, AZ to Montreal, Canada when normal travel takes less than 8 hours including layovers. I am worried about my return flights, not gonna lie (for my safety and time). Thankfully I'm returning a couple of days before I return to work, but I know other people that travel for business and that is a huge inconvenience."

Cons: "No apology for lateness, flight boarded late, took off 40 min late, arrived 35 minutes late but we sat at gate waiting for someone to open it ?!, then another 15 min before bags started to unload Ridiculous but indicative of airlines You are not their valued guest or even their customer, you are a problem that needs to be solved and are consequently met with preloaded annoyance and a readiness to dismiss, placate at the best of times but definitely not please, impress, sympathize or satisfy. There is no evidence that it's even in their lexicon- not a part of their recruitment or selection process or training, ever! They're main focus and only positivity is saved for themselves. There may be a long line of concerned and anxious travelers but their priority is getting coffees for the battle ahead! They break their focused indifference only for each other and enthusiastically leave their post to satisfy each other's needs and attention. This has got to change! Why do we put up with such awful service for which we are the paying customer? Why are we, their customers, not valued? This airline makes record profits, provides less, charges for everything and increasingly delivers bad service, sometimes offensively bad! It doesn't cost more to hire a customer centric pleasant person, or incorporate guest experience into training or at the very least be friendly and smile! What if an airline just did that?! They'd differentiate themselves and develop a positive customer centered culture. Don't we deserve that, at the very least?!"

Cons: "I had booked my Air Canada trip and had a single stop-over while I switched to a different plane. Both of these planes were Air Canada. I Even though I made it through Customs in the shortest time possible, and back through security, I still managed to narrowly make my second flight. They were final-calling my name and actually taking off earlier than expected. Had I been 2 more minutes late, my flight would probably have taken off. I didn't check any bags either, so had I checked one, I don't think I would have made my second flight."
Cons: "The flight attendants were jerks. Why can't I listen to my headphones before takeoff? Because of the safety speech? Are deaf people not allowed to fly? I was asked to take my headphones off during the safety speech, which I did. I put them back on after the speech and was yelled at. The lady in front of me had a dog. The lady across from me was talking on her cell phone. And the kids behind me were playing games on their iPad with no headphones and the sound on. No one said anything to them. Screw this airline."
Pros: "Flight attendant was snarky to my uncle when asked how come they did not have their prebooked seats together. Her reply was something along the lines of "you can take another flight" and then she walked off, not offering any other solution."
Cons: "There was gum and gunk all over the seatback and tray table in front of me -- the tray table was unusable because it was sticky and couldn't be cleaned off, but was constantly at risk of ruining my clothing if it can in contact with the mess. Disappointed."

Cons: "We were delayed for four hours and were stuck on the plane that whole time. We did not receive any food and just tab water was offered."

Cons: "Our return flight was delayed due to maintenance issues and then cancelled after 2 hours of waiting. We got re-scheduled for a flight due to leave 5 hours from when the flight was cancelled. We stood in line to get on an earlier flight (there were 3 earlier flights) and got wait listed on one. Thankfully, we got on that flight however, we were in the airport for 8 hours from 8am to 4pm for a 1 1/2 hr flight. Our original flight was supposed to leave around 10am. No flight re-imbursement was issued to us, and we only received lunch vouchers after we asked for them."

Lastly, we purchased the tickets together, when we checked in, our seats were not together on both the flight to and from Italy, thankfully other people switched seats with us. When we asked the flight crew at the desk to switch seats, they couldn't both times. We definitely will not be flying Air Canada in the future."
Pros: "Aircraft was originally booked solid, but a last minute change of aircraft switched us to a larger aircraft so everyone could spread out and get a little more room. Crew was energetic, enthusiastic and pleasant. Overall the flight was above average, mainly due to the friendliness of the crew."
Cons: "Leg room in economy is always an issue (I'm 6'4"). Thankfully this flight was not booked solid and there was no one sitting in that dread middle seat. The food was Mediocre at best. We ordered a pizza for lunch, the toppings apparently shifted in flight and the cheese and pepperoni slid off the crust and was sitting on one side of the box with the crust on the other... (Advice - Stick with sandwiches, crackers and cheese, etc. instead of the hot meals on Air Canada)."

Cons: "AC Rouge domestic flight was horrible. Tiny seats that reclined about 1.5 inches jammed together. Not that size plane's original configuration I'm sure. Absolutely miserable. The personnel were all very nice and competent--I felt sorry for them having to work in such an environment. I've been in small African airline's planes which were small but not that uncomfortable."
Cons: "I will never fly Air Canada between Detroit and Toronto again. Both ways the crew looked exhausted and like they were rather be anyplace but working our flight. Both times they took our carry ons without giving us a choice. For our flight out this was a stressful nuisance because we had to catch a connecting overseas flight. This involved my husband and son going to baggage claim and then having to go back through customs and TSA. The whole point of carry ons is to avoid this. Luckily we didn't miss our international flight but not a good way to begin a trip of a lifetime. Flight was completely uncomfortable and it seemed like no one cared. Should have driven"

Cons: "I made a round trip to Japan from Boston with Air Canada, flying out in mid-June and returning in the beginning of July, and I was rather disappointed to find that the choice of movies was more or less the same both ways, at least I did not see much change in new releases. I was expecting new movies to be added on my return flight from Japan since the month has changed from June to July but I did not find new movies, so I just read on my iPad. It would have also been nice if there was an option for inflight WiFi access."

Pros: "Bos->Toronto Good Air Canada at Boston Logan airport has there own gate area with only 3 gates. This reduces the security line for faster security check. However this also causes problems with PreCheck. See below."
Cons: "Bad There is only one line for security at Air Canada Boston Logan because of the small volume at this check point. Because of this, PreCheck passages need to hold onto there bording pass as they go through security. The first security person who checks ID and boarding pass only told my wife not to take off her shoes. He did not tell her to hold on to her boarding pass, so she put it into the bin for x-ray stuff. So later security personnel then told her to take off her shoes and gave her a body scan because her boarding pass was already in the x-ray machine. I always hold on to my boarding pass thru security but had to take my computer out of my carry-on."

Cons: "My wife and I traveled with bicycles packed in standard boxes and got hit with a whopping $230 charge per bicycle out of the blue. We were expecting no charge because the bicycles were our only check-in baggage for the trip. Couldn't believe the lack of transparency with which we got hit with this charge. Qantas, Air New Zealand, and other airlines we've taken bikes with us on our flights have charged nothing when we traveled in the same fashion. So, if you are a bicyclist traveling with your bicycle, I'd avoid the United-Lufthansa duo."
Cons: "When to Newark airport to check in, crew were very disorganized and very rude. Nobody was willing to help us and everybody tried to avoid people who looked like they needed help. Worst airport ever."

Cons: "So, we'll start with boarding. Why airlines can't figure out to board the plane from back to front is beyond me. No, let's load front to back so everyone has to uncomfortably shove past the people who have already taken their seats at the front of the plane. Then you get back there and all the overhead bins are full because everyone takes as many bags as possible onto the plane. Then you have to sacrifice the already tiny amount of foot room, "to put the bag fully underneath the seat in front of you." At this point you should be fine, except if you're over five and a half feet tall (I don't know if that's true I'm 6'2" and 275 lbs,) because then your knees are going to be buried so deep in the chair in front of you that the person up there doesn't even need a seat they can just sit on your knees. Luckily for you tall people, they put a nice metal rod just about knee level to really dig in and cause pain . . . Yay! Being a big guy, you try to be considerate and fold your arms in to give the person next to you as much space as possible, but don't expect that back as they'll spread out and become as wide as possible. Then to distract yourself from the discomfort, you try to use the free in flight entertainment via the United app, but "it's not available right now." In summation either be short and small or be rich and buy the seats with extra legroom when you fly United."

The people checking in did not seem to care about the delay and only told us to be patient. Sad, unfortunate experience with accessibility issues."

We drove 3 hours and spent almost $300 for a rental car to get to Dallas for the flight they put us on, which we couldn't make. We told the check in counter and they gave us boarding passes for an American flight that wouldn't leave until 10:00 pm but that we could try to get on stand by for an earlier flight. At this point we were already missing a concert we were trying to make in Chicago. Another $150 gone. We were lucky enough to make the 8:30 pm Dallas to Chicago with American and arrived at Ohare by 11:00 pm. All in all United wasted $300 on a rental car, $150 of concert tickets and 5 hours of paid time off I can't get back. Very disappointed. PS: they gave us food vouchers at the airport to apologize and they were already expired. They couldn't do one thing right."

Then finally had us deplane to wait for replacement plane. Not that the employees weren't polite and courteous because they were, but the last time I had a delay like that the airline gave everyone vouchers for $100 off next flight they booked. Your company let us watch TV for free. Hardly comparable!"
