Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Food OK, seating OK, crew professional."
Cons: "Air Canada, whose flight this was, was understaffed and disorganized in Milan. No kiosks for self service, no identification of which line to wait in for what, lines spilling over into common area with >100 people and their luggage waiting. Waited almost an hour just to get a boarding pass."
Pros: "The crew on Air Transit did a good job."
Cons: "I would fly with Air Canada instead and not Air Transit."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and tried to provide a good service."
Cons: "Wider seats and more leg room. The return trip from Ottawa to Vancouver was over $1200. I think that’s quite pricey given that any food or alcoholic beverage had to be purchased at an extra cost."
Cons: "Dirty plane, nobody bothered to wipe the tray table and Black Mold showing (extensively) at top air vents. Very uncomfortable flight. AC needs to do a Much Better job cleaning between flights!!"
Pros: "Where we sat."
Cons: "Earphones plug ins were scanty in their connections"
Pros: "The seating was good and the pilot was friendly."
Cons: "There was not a good movie selection and there was not a lot of information regarding the altitude and there was not very much warning during turbulence."
Cons: "crew was rude and unhelpful with delayed flight"
Cons: "My direct flight was cancelled and rebooked with a connecting flight."
Pros: "We did finally get to our destination."
Cons: "Late flights, missed connection, no ground service"
Cons: "Checked carry on from Montreal to RDU. Bag was never entered in the system (customer service at Toronto stop could not find record for the claim tag we were given), which caused a problem with customs. Bag did arrive with rest of luggage at destination, however."
Pros: "Airplane was very clean. Flight was smooth and timely"
Cons: "Food was terrible. Certain attendant was condescending and rude for absolutely no reason."
Pros: "terrific video entertainment, excellent and affordable food choices"
Cons: "One hour late"
Cons: "Poor airflow on plane."
Cons: "I made a mistake on my reservation. I thought I made it for July 30tb , but it was for August 30th . They charged over $600.00 to fly home , which is a lot of money to me ."
Cons: "Flight was delayed"
Cons: "The flight was late."
Pros: "Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but they can only do what is within corporate rules to help you. Their corporate policies are NOT GOOD!"
Cons: "Flying Air Canada is horrible! They nickel & dime you to the point of tears. They charged me $15 per leg to make advanced seat assignments ($60 total) then changed my flights and put me in middle seats on two legs without asking me - I didn't find out until I was ready to board and they called my name to come to the gate desk! They also charge $33+ US to check one bag. If you go over the 50 lb weight limit they charge $100. By the time you add it all up, I could have flown on Delta through the US for less. Trying to get my seat selection fees reimbursed was very difficult; At the airport, they told me to go online and ask for a refund; Online, I couldn't find the way to get to the refund link; Called Customer service again, who gave me an 800# to call for a refund; the person on the 800 # told me I had to request it online but walked me through it to find the refund link; I filled in the online request and was told by automatic reply that Air Canada would investigate it and get back to me within 3-4 weeks. Ugh! No more Air Canada for me!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 10 minutes but had to wait 45 minutes on the plane before take off. Quite stressful and tiring!"
Pros: "Paid for the "upgraded" seat only to be told we had to be in the back of the plane. Moving back all rows had one person and one chair open, so we had to sit apart. Useless crew as an elder couple asked to sit together and were told to check with passengers. Oh and the flight was delayed 3 times."
Pros: "The flight was half empty so was able to have a role to myself"
Cons: "Air Canada Rouge should be renamed Air Canada Rude. Employees are very un-friendly; Seat design on the plane is the most uncomfortable of any airline out there. Very close to each other and very little padding on cushion of seat. Dirty plane; don’t think they serviced it between flights, garbage in each seat pouch. Very cold on flight, crew did not regulate the climate control. Too many unnecessary announcements both in English then French. Each announcement seemed like it lasted about 10 minutes which no one listen. So much for trying to watch a movie that pauses every time the crew feels the needs to talk. Sat at gate for 30 minutes pass departure time without any explanation until right before we departed (waiting on passengers from late arriving flights). At lease they could have told us. Anyhow this is not the Air Canada of old. Air Canada Rouge shows no signs that they care about the comfort of their passengers."
Pros: "All was well. Thanks"
Cons: "Not aconfortable plane"
Pros: "Boarding process was good"
Cons: "No free snacks offered"
Pros: "The ONLY part of flying Air Canada that I used to like was your partnership with SAS, over the past ten years I have lost more airtravel points through Star Alliance troubles than I could have made in the decade before. Luckily when I fly from my birth place of St. John's NL, you're ground staff are the absolute best! I can give "shout outs" to each and every one of them. From those ready for retirement to the new staff just in from "who knows where", they get the whole "customer service" priority that your airline needs to focus on. Your management in Halifax "Sharon" is out of this world too, other than that whether through Lufthansa, Air Canada or anywhere I would travel, seeing that red leaf on your wing would make me ashamed to be Canadian."
Cons: "I paid extra for a seat to ensure leg room, all I got was ear ache! The flight - although half empty had no place for my briefcase, but I was "ordered" to push my sealskin bag under the dirty greasy seat in front of me. When I requested they store it upfront for take-off & landing - the french female steward started flirting with the man sitting next to me and didn't even offer a response. When drinks came around - I was handed a half empty glass with juice on it's exterior and borrowed a napkin from the next seat. Later I did get a napkin "thrown gently" over the person she enjoyed speaking with. I was happy to wait until connecting passengers disembarked before the local traffic, but was appalled when the more senior female steward stopped a local passenger who I know has anxiety about flying - to insist she let the other passengers off first. Air Canada needs to be educated on what human behaviour entails, before they can graduate to customer service. Together with my first name, you can know my last name is Floyd"
Cons: "Delayed 3 hours"
Pros: "Efficient boarding and unloading. Cabin service was fine but the food in economy was marginal."
Cons: "The food was too TV dinner like. Lufthansa did much better."
Pros: "Seats are comfortable and I had plenty of leg room."
Cons: "No snacks offered with drink. Boarding wasn't well organized. Toronto airport is horrible... long lines at customs and security caused me to miss my connection for the second time in a row."
Pros: "we sat on the airplane for over 3 hrs , waiting for someone to clean the waste water from the plane.! it was very alarming the lack of service , never seen anything like that before !"
Pros: "Air canada needs a serious serious overhaul of the way they treat their customers especially those working at the Toronto airport I find their employees have an "entitlement" mentality that other carriers do not Customer service seems to be a priority not talking to your coworkers about the weekend while serving your customers"
Cons: "There was one employee who suggested to take an earlier flight and was very helpful Little things go along way"
Pros: "Traveling back to the US have Global Emtey or Nexus Like the free movies watched half of movie on the way to acanandr and half on the way back. Thank you"
Cons: "Last time I traveled to Canada I probably used a passport. BUT I never knew that I needed it I thought u could travel with my drivers lisence. Remind travelers to take their passport"
Pros: "I was able to use my iPhone, good thing I had an iPhone"
Cons: "I wasn't told to download the app before I got on the plane. It was a ten hour flight with limited entertainment on my iPhone. I was rebooked on SAS with my flight to Europe. SAS Entertainment and Food was much better than AirCanadas Entertainmnet and Food on the long flight from Montreal to Copenhagen."
Pros: "All the crew was nice and helpful"
Cons: "No wifi, bad tv options, bad food,"
Pros: "Reaching my destination, that's the only thing I was happy about"
Cons: "The plane is old and seat are close to each others, it wouldn't hirt if they make extra space, afterall it's a long flight!"
Cons: "Staff was rude. And I was seated next to an alchoholic"
Pros: "It was better then the trip to Toronto"
Pros: "The flight attendants tried their hardest to keep issue minimal."
Cons: "The second engine needed for take off had issues so the airline tried to get second engine replaced. Unfortunately the second engine also controlled the air conditioning. We waited through 3 engine replacement tries in the hot Italian summer inside a hot cabin with approximately 150 passengers. Almost an hour later, engine was replaced but damage was done. Many transfer flights had to be rescheduled for later flights. Where was the reimbursement???? Just a million thanks for our patience. Time is money"
Pros: "They surprisingly didn't lose our bags...on this flight."
Cons: "Where to start?! Air Canada is by far the worst airline I have ever flown on. initially there was no information on what gate we were supposed to go to. The timeline of when the gate was going to be told ended up being 45 minutes later than initially projected which turned out to be an hour before the flight was supposed to take off, which didn't leave much time to make it through passport control and to the correct gate. The flight was then delayed over an hour before we were able to board. Once we boarded the flight, we were delayed again an additional hour. We finally took off and landed in Toronto to be delayed yet again before we could go to our gate. Once we go to our gate (close to 30 minutes after landing) the gate would not work and we were stuck on the plan an additional 30 minutes. What was supposed to be about a 9 hour flight turned into almost 12 hours of misery. I will never fly air canada again. The best part about air canada is how every canadian I talked to say "oh yeah, they are such a "terrible" or "shitty" airline."
Pros: "From the comfort of the seats to the movies to the great tasting food, there isn't anything they could have done to make my flight any better. Thank you Air Canada."
Pros: "Landing safely."
Cons: "Air Canada agents said I could do frequent flyer miles, it turns out they won't count mine &I could have saved hours of effort & phone waiting time if they just had said that upfront. Air Canada will be about my last choice for long flights because of that."
Pros: "Safe landing, excellent flight steward."
Cons: "We checked in 2.5 hrs before our flight but this was not early enough to guarantee our seats, and we were put on standby. That was a bummer. I still have this old-fashioned notion that paying in full for the seat was the guarantee for the seats. The A/C was broken during initial taxi and takeoff. The flight was delayed 30 minutes."
Pros: "Lots of leg room. Friendly and helpful staff. Smooth flight and comfortable seats."
Cons: "We didn't like all the walking to get to and from the plane in Terminal 2, Heathrow. Anywhere else in the world would transport people by bus if it was going to be a twenty minute walk to the departure gate."
Pros: "I somehow got upgraded to business class. It was an incredible experience. What is there not to like about free champagne, a great selection of wines, a seat that feels like a bad, and the best service? Highly highly recommend."
Cons: "Nothing. Everything was amazing."
Pros: "Got on flight"
Cons: "Got boarding pass but no signs to differentiate Air Canada counters (US-bound, domestic, international). Went to wrong counter and had to run to right one Booked flight. When I checked bag, I got a standby with hope that I could get on flight. Fortunately, I was able to make it. If I had connecting flights, it would have been a nightmare Same boring old movies and TV - 2 broke girls episodes. Just drink, nothing else for morning flight. Something to eat? It is an international (Can-US) flight Slow unloading of luggage"
Pros: "Good onboard entertainment"
Cons: "Overhead cabin extremely small compare to US planes"
Pros: "eventually getting home and the woman next to me with whom I was able to discuss our shared misery."
Cons: "Worst experience. My connecting flight I had originally booked was cancelled, leaving. me with a six hour layover. I had no desire to shop duty free and was tired from my previous flight so I went to the gate which my flight would eventually leave from. While standing, since seating was extremely limited, and sitting at this gate I observed that every flight was either delayed or cancelled. Employees milled about with their backs to passengers with little regard to those inconvenienced, they seemed to be completely clueless when asked simple questions. The Pearson Airport was the most disorganized and inconvenient airport I have ever had the misfortune to experience. The toilet on this flight was broken and we were only informed right before boarding, making the decision to go while I could I missed them saying they were going to take our carry on bags away from us to stow below. I had medicine and camera lenses and other items I was wary of leaving my possession and had to sit on the tarmac a few minutes to re-situate my personal items. I have no intentions of flying through Pearson ever again."
Cons: "Too much delay"
Cons: "First of all, the flight schedule was changed on June 3rd, after the passenger had already left the country for her trip. The flight leaving Milan was moved up BY 6 HOURS!!! When we called the 3rd party used to book the flight, they were not helpful in trying to find a more reasonable option that was similar to the original itinerary booked. So, the passenger got to the airport at 4 am for their 6 am flight and was not able to check in because the 3rd party agency had not confirmed her seats on that flight. No one was available from Air Canada to assist with this issue. The passenger had to work with the Milan Airport information desk and they were able to find out that the 3rd party had never cancelled her seats on the original itinerary so her seats could not be confirmed on the 6 am flight they had "rebooked" her on. As there were no airline personnel to assist, by the time this was found out, the passenger had missed her flight. The person at the Milan airport information desk had to help find a different flight for her to travel on a different airline. This was the WORST experience I have ever encountered!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "The flight has a early take off and early landing"
