I was told that they had reserved an isle (they could not sell me an upgrade- I would have gladly paid for a seat up front), but when I arrived at the Swiss counter in NY my seat assignment was middle/middle. I was unable to reach Swiss phone reps due to limited hours of service. I did Post on the Swiss Face Book site as per Swiss air website instructions. I also emailed social support help- I received no reply. gate agents were helpful with the first leg, but had no ability to help with the second - sent me to Geneva hopeful I could be helped there."

Cons: "Turkish Airlines' hub airport, Ataturk International in Istanbul, is a chaotic, surly mess. Part of this relates to the fact that it is simply too small for the volume of traffic it handles, but I also believe airport management deserves some blame. Problems include: * Most arriving Turkish Airlines flights empty out on the tarmac, and then you are bussed to the terminal, adding at least 20 minutes to the process. Some departing flights to North America also require bussing from a distant gate. * Rescreening is inconsistent - once it was some guy standing by a door giving a cursory glance to passports of transfer passengers. Another time, hundreds of people going through a full laptops-out-of-bags-take-off-your-belts xray procedure. * Signage is terrible. Arrows pointing where to go are insufficient (such as exiting the international terminal from the transfer area) and most gates do not automatically show the next flight scheduled to depart. * Gates are shown on the main displays only 2 hours in advance max, and even then seem to change — I saw several people miss their flights for this reason. * Not enough toilets in the terminal and lounges. * Airport staff and concessions workers are surly. I would like to stress that Turkish Airlines (the dominant carrier at Ataturk) is actually pretty good when it comes to the flights themselves. But the airport experience really brings down the brand, in my opinion. My advice to those who have a long layover: Spend $25-$40 dollars to hang out in one of the paid lounges, which have more space, free food, Wi-Fi, etc. You need an oasis in a place like Ataturk."

Now it's sold out for the flight tomorrow and no one will assist in trying to help get us better seats. I understand things are out of your companies control but being in an airport with an 18-month baby isn't easy and no one in this company has made this crazy travel schedule easier. I would like someone to call me back or email me with something that could maybe be done to help us! No one at the call center will help!"

Cons: "I booked three round-trip tickets from LAX to Athens. Our daughter did not fly with us there but we checked with ticketing in LAX and they booked her seat anyway. The issue came when we tried to leave Athens the airlines then said that I had to purchase a one-way ticket! They informed me that the flight was cancelled for my daughter because she didn't fly to Athens. The ticket was almost $1,500.00 and I intend to get my money back but it was unfortunate that they had to charge me for it in the first place."

Pros: "I used the prime lounge in Istanbul and when it was time to go, I was able to practically walk on the plane without any wait. The seats were comfy and didn't have a ton of legroom but it wasn't bad. The staff we're friendly and helpful. The in-flight entertainment had a pretty impressive selection and had one of the best-designed interfaces I've seen so far (and I've ridden a variety of airlines). Last and most important, the food was hands down the BEST I've had on a plane. Turkish is killing it, they're my new go-to airline!"

There was mumbling among the passengers, to the point of someone joking "Free cookies and water if we make it on time?" Just a bad gate experience, but bad enough that peopoe were commenting, and I waited for someone from the cockpit to del\part so I could mention it to them."

This is a torturous was to spend half a day in a middle seat. This airline still uses the old-fashioned two connector headphones hinting at the age of the airplane. At least the tray tables weren't smelling of vomit and visually dirty as on previous flight. Crew didnt miss an opportunity on either of our flight to charge us for every little luxury, like a snack or alcohol and were fast to hawk their goods for sale. Truly annoying."

Cons: "My connecting flight made through a separate reservation was delayed. Before we departed, I knew I wouldn't make my Aer Lingus flight. Since the airport I was in didn't have an Aer Lingus desk, I spent an hour on hold with Aer Lingus. I never spoke to a single person. Online there existed an option to change to a later flight, which would've cost €350 per ticket (I paid €160 per ticket originally). When I arrived at an airport with an Aer Lingus desk, they said there was nothing they could do for me and I had forfeited my tickets by not showing up on time. Long story short, this a second rate company with terrible customer service and support who are willing to take your money without offering anything in return."

The Aer Lingus support number just rang and rang, no one picked up for days! My daughter tried the main Aer Lingus connection but they referred us back to the same phone number.
