Not happy but at least my luggage wasn't lost. Will I fly with WestJet again? Probably. Will I expect some sort of hang up and/or inconvenience? Definitely."

Pros: "The flight itself was about as average as any other flight. At least all our luggage made it from the incoming flight from Key West to join us in Charlotte. That was our final destination but most of the passengers were making additional connections."
Cons: "The boarding went like the plane was ready to leave on time, except it didn't. There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

I didn't even think that was legal in the US?! Anyway, maybe it will be worth it once the renovations are complete, especially if AA is going to use it as a hub."

They kept us outside the terminal for two hours without restrooms or any explanation, finally began sending groups inside only to wait more hours past our flight time. Finally made it to delayed boarding several hours later, only to have them inform us at the bottom of the tube to go to plane that the flight was cancelled!!! Just said pick up your bags on Carousel 10 and that was it. Got our bags and booked a hotel to go to for the night, and they came out and said they were going to bus us to a hotel for the night. The hotel I booked was un-refundable and when I called American about our flight the next day that got messed up too and ended up with an extra five hour layover between flights. When we went to board from Charlotte to Nashville, the boarding agent announced we didn't have any pilots!!! So with a full flight, had to wait for them to find us some pilots. Will not fly American Airlines again if I can help it! Also the tv/entertainment units on the flight didn't work properly."

Cons: "We had about seven wheelchair passengers booked on this flight and no one had a clue how to manage it. two ended up being carted off to other gates and the rest boarded slowly, resulting in a 40 minute delay departing. When we got to Charlotte there were planes backed up, another 20 minutes to get to a gate. My 90 minute leisurely stroll to my next flight morphed into a race across three concourses. Charlotte is a nightmare under the best conditions, this just sucked."

Meanwhile flights from Vancouver that we’re supposed to leave after us , left before us, got there before us, and got their bags before us. Horrible trip. I could not believe how unprofessional and unprepared Air Canada and the Toronto airport was during the holidays!"

Pros: "Air Canada has one of the best buy on board menu's of any North American carrier. They even allow you to purchase Business Class meals (subject to availability of course). Flying on the older 767-300ER also has more shoulder and leg room than some of Air Canada's newer configurations for the 787 and 777."
Cons: "Air Canada's boarding process is a bit frustrating. On American Airlines and United Flight attendants make announcements over the PA to (a) step out of the aisle to let people pass, and (b) place larger suitcases in the overhead and smaller bags under the seat. That way they try to ensure there is enough bin space to accommodate everyone. Passengers on Air Canada stuff everything in to the overhead bin and nothing under their seat, leaving little for those boarding after and delaying the flight because flight attendants are looking for bin space. If they were more pro-active, it would speed things up."
Pros: "I liked the selection of movies and entertainment. I had brought a book, podcasts, and games, but I ended up just watching movies."
Cons: "The seats recline so far that the headrest screen ended up way too close to comfortably watch movies or effectively use the tray. The people in front of my wife and I kept their seats fully reclined, even during the meals, and it was very uncomfortable. One of the meals had a pepper sauce that had such a strong smell that I was nauseous until the end of the flight. While the chicken meal I ate was fine, there wasn't much chicken at all."

Cons: "Firstly I will start with the lack of service we provided when trying to get seats together after checking in online. We rang and were told to try at the airport counter. Then at the airport counter we were told to try at the gate and then at the gate when I went to ask I was told to go get both tickets before they told us that there was no 2 seats together anyway rather than looking first. All whilst explaining this was our honeymoon and we would really like to sit together as husband and wife. Then once we boarded the guy sitting next to me was happy to swap seats with my wife as he had back problems and had asked for an aisle seat but was denied. Finally we are underway and I find that my entertainment touch screen doesn't work so even though it is one i can't select anything to watch. Plus to top it off the seat arm rest was broken. Obviously with a fairly full flight with no 2 seats together their wasn't much that could be done immediately but where is the maintenance and actual physical plane quality? Do your engineers or staff not check things? Overall dispite this being our national carrier I am ashamed to claim that. Many of our overseas visitors for the wedding from Australia and Europe also had similar complaints."

ADDRESS these issues, FIX YOUR WEBSITE, TREAT YOUR HARDWORKING, PAYING CUSTOMERS with DIGNITY and RESPECT they DESERVE. Competing Airlines are waiting for your dissatisfied customers."

Short time allowance for flights connections since most flights from Chicago start off late. Look to carriers such as Luftansa, Jordan Air, Turkish Air as the right way to do things."

For example, I was either stepped on (as a result, being woken up) or my backpack was stepped on several times when an attendant was walking down the aisle, and neither of those things were sticking out into the aisle. This has rarely happened to me on trans-Pacific flights (more crowded, longer flights) so I can only attribute it to the carelessness of the attendants and/or the aisle width but since I think aisle width follows international standards it's more likely the former."

Our plane ticket costs an exorbitant amount, AND we are forced to pay for our meals....service would be the very minimum that we could expect.... ALSO: Although there was no charge for baggage on our flight out, and nothing written anywhere about a baggage charge, yet on the return flight we were hit with a $90 baggage fee!! The flight was already too expensive but that was just adding insult to injury"

They only kept repeating that they notified me so there is nothing they could do. I ended up going to Air Canada to get a flight to PHX the next day. No apology, no help, no hotel for the night...Terrible experience by United. They gave me a customer relations group contact information to follow up with for complaint but since they sent me the 3 emails in May about the change, they have no liability to fix the situation."
