The canceled the flight without notifying me in any way. Even the day before the flight I got an email notifying me of the still old (and no longer accurate) flight itinerary. When I arrived in Auckland to find out I no longer had a flight out of there, I felt stranded. I was told normally they would offer standby for the next flight (which would’ve been fine!) but they didn’t have any to Dunedin that day. I had to buy another $325 flight though another airline day of that they did not cover. Would not recommend. .

Pros: "This flight was on-board a Fiji Airways plan, not Air NZ. The crew were fantastic, the food was very tasty, all sorts of drinks available, lots of overhead storage, plenty of entertainment options on video screen, restrooms adequate/typical, great pilot, smooth take-off and landing."
Cons: "I did not enjoy the tiny, cramped seats - the smallest I've been squeezed into in many years. Hard bottom and narrow; when the girl in front of me put her seat back, her headrest was right in front of my teeth. Also, they use the old school dual-headphones that don't sit flat on your ears and there was no jack available for personal ear buds. Opportunities for improvement!"

Cons: "The quality isn’t there... vegetarian meal was the same on both flights and beyond below par. Planes seem to be pretty past there prime in the 4 flights I have been on. Check in process is a nightmare without any automated options that backs everything up. When I arrived in Los Angeles and found that two zippers had been torn from my bag and one pocket open, the baggage staff scoffed at my claim and told me to go speak to a third party that handles baggage claims... I’ll just steer clear next time."

Cons: "The entertainment system had EXACTLY the same movies/shows we had on the flight over. Since we flew like 14 hours, we saw everything we wanted to see the 1st time. Maybe offer different choices on southbound and northbound itineraries."

Cons: "My knees while sitting upright drive into the seat in front of me. No extra legroom seats available. Please start saving these for people who actually need them. Also, boarding was like cattle hearding, lack of organization caused anxiety ... albeit my wife and I were amused by people without direction."

Cons: "Very bad food for those who are strict veterinarian and even don't eat onion, garlic, mushroom because their religion dose not allow. very bad for one who is going to LA and allow only one hand carry even all other airlines allow one hand carry and one computer bag."

Cons: "The gate agent was extremely rude and asked to see our passports. She insisted our carry on be checked in. My son is disabled and requires an isle chair. The gate staff did not allow time for him to get to his seat before letting the rest of the passengers board and the staff assisting him were very upset as were the passengers who were wondering what was taking so long to get to their seats."

Cons: "The flight was unusually warm. Other passengers asked the A/C be turned up but I didn't notice much difference after. The food selection was poor compared to the usual offerings I've seen with Fiji Airways. Dinner's side dishes were a hard roll, chocolate coconut dessert thing, and slice of cake. I was hoping for fruit and/or a salad. Food service was a little slow."

Ended up flying later,, longer and much more uncomfortable than expected. F Had to take separate seats from family and middle seats, had to spend entire day in Sydney which required us to spend money on a visa and money to eat, had additional stress of then arriving too late and needing to rebook rental car and arranged hotel and make sure elederly parents with special needs were ok health wise. An overall disaster. Never ever a worse experience and I am a world traveler to 68 countries on 6 continents. Will be asking Fiji for full refund plus compensation for having to buy visas and spend day in Sydney."

Pros: "The meal was nice and the crew was pleasant. The flight was relatively smooth and there were no mix-up or problems with my luggage after the initial issue of having to pay to check in my carry-on due to being overweight."
Cons: "Cramped seating a bit much for such a long flight. The attendants were a little slow to pick up the rubbish from snacks, drinks and meals."
