The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. Train noise in the early morning hours outside the hotel and noisy visitors next door and down the hall.
I didn't like that when checking in they ask for my credit card again after I had already paid $857 online. Not knowing that valet was not included they kept trying to swipe different amounts to charge and blocked my card for suspicious faudulent charges. Terrible communication cuz they could've asked me what card I wanted to use, nothing. Also valet customer service was horrible while my sister was arriving in her vehicle with my nephews she asked for help carrying her luggage off and was ignored by valet. He could've called someone for help, but definitely not worth the money, never again
Location is great Could not accommodate our truck - had to park off site.
Housekeeping was fast. Location on the river walk was very convenient. The room and bathroom were very small. There was also a very strong scent of perfume that was overwhelming when you walked into the hotel. We noticed it every time we came into the hotel during our stay. It was almost nauseating. Parking was expensive. It was the week of Thanksgiving and the front desk seemed to be severely understaffed.

Hotel needs to be updated. Duvet was heavily stained. A giant cochroach came out from under the dresser. Towels were abrasive and not soft. Inside of desk and drawers were stained. Old and worn.
The staff was great. The rooms were clean. Even when house keeping forgot to clean our room twice, they sent someone over immediately to clean it up. The breakfast attendants were super friendly, especially Rudy. The breakfast could use better variety of fruit and swich the sausage with ham once in a while. The pool was so cold, I thought icebergs were forming.

Perfect location to attend my conference at the Marriott. Such great rooms @ a better price. Less than a five min walk to Marriott & Riverwalk. Warm & friendly staff. Clean. Good breakfast. I have no complaints. I was very pleased with the service, rooms, cleanliness, location, and the price.
Very convenient walking distance to Alamodome Noise problem between rooms and outside traffic
Hotel is super clean (spotless!) and modern, with free unlimited Wifi and friendly and helpful staff. There are complimentary maps of the downtown area at the front desk. Our King room was well-appointed (mini fridge, ironing board, air conditioner, microwave, coffee maker - which I didn't use) and my husband wanted me to mention that it always smelled good. Bed was comfortable as well. Much more budget friendly than the hotels right in the heart of the Riverwalk. About less than a mile walk to the central downtown area, which can be a bit more daunting when the weather spikes or drops (it was 32 one morning when we ventured out for breakfast). Easy access to the Alamodome and amtrak station, though. Since it's close to the Amtrak station you can hear the train blow its horn, but it was only in the morning (a reasonable time - nothing horrible) and we ended up using it as a secondary alarm clock. No bar or restaurant onsite but we didn't need any of that and tons of places in San Antonio deliver so the lack of room service wasn't off-putting. Would definitely stay here again!
First, City View overbooked. This was not communicated to Kayak, so after traveling when I arrived at 3AM, a very disgruntled employee stormed out of the back and told me through the locked door to leave, they have nothing for me. After statng that I have a reservation, and showing him the confirmation, he told me that "Kayak" overbooked them and to leave or he would call the police. You read that correctly. I asked for his name, which he refused to give to me. After asking again to look at my confirmation, I decided at this point I did not want to give them my money after this experience. We left and were forced to travel 2 hours home after a very long day and night already spent traveling. I called City View moments after leaving to again try and get the employees name, but was hung up on. I will say Kayak handled this situation beautifully, even going as far as to cal me to make sure we were accommodated. This was not a miss on Kayak's part, it was City View first for not notifying Kayak or myself of the overbooked rooms, and second, for handling the manner upon my arrival so terribly.
