Cons: "So, this plane was a Virgin America aircraft taken over by Alaska since the merger. My fiance and I were on a red eye non-stop to Philly from LAX. That said, the plane was in terrible condition. The seat back in front of my seat was broken and hanging down on my knees, there was no opportunity for entertainment unless you brought your own plug in headphones (none on the plane to use or purchase), we purchased upgraded seats and when we checked in the night before were told they were not available and we would be in economy (still waiting for that $200 refund 7 days later), the arm rest between our seats was broken and would not stay up, the headrest of my seat was broken and there was exposed metal, and when we purchased champagne to celebrate our vacation it was warm. One other item I noticed was the woman across the aisle's seat would not sit upright. She was asked to move to another seat for both take off and landing. Not sure if this was a Virgin America crew of Alaska, but terribly disappointed iin the crews lack of care and would not fly them again across country if this is what is to be expected."

Love that they have outlet with usb and best part it is right in the front, better than other airline, their plug is under the seat, always awkward and annoying. They offer free wifi for movies with closed captions. Crew is friendly and smiled a lot, they take care me well. Now this airline is my top of list when buying my tickets."

My flight was scheduled at 6:50pm, and thus I arrived at the airport around 5:30pm and went through security check. I found that my flight is now scheduled to depart at 10:40pm. There was no explanation, and I did not recieve any notice. It can be easily sent via email or text message. Now, I have to wait for 4 HOURS at the airport. I was a quite disappointed by this unacceptable service."

For someone that has TSA pre check and travels alot, all that extra time adds up and can sometimes cause you to miss your flight. Because there is on "fast line" when you check-in like there is at the security check point. I only have this problem with Delta, never American airlines..."

But, when we landed, as passengers were trying to get off of the plane, the attendants were putting all of the collected luggage at the entry to the jetway. It created congestion. Cons: "Airlines in general need to enforce the carry on luggage rules. If it doesn't match the dimensions for the carry on specks then make the people Check it. Don't let it go. If I paid for a seat and I'm allowed two carry ons then there should be room for them. Don't ask people to check bags because of a full plane. The crew should have there own place to store their belongings, not where the passengers do and take their space. The life rafts need to be easy to get to but again should take up a spot a passenger has paid for their luggage to go. If that is the only space for these items then don't allow passengers to bring two items if in those seats or on the whole plane. It's really disappointing when your told you may have to check your bag because there's not enough room."

This meant our TUI connection in Gatwick to Chambery would have been wasted along with bus transfers. West jet did not offer us AC flights that were available to keep us near to our schedule. We ended up cancelling the Westjet flights and buying AC flights to Heathrow at a cost of $3300 + $300 taxi to gatwick + abandoned bus to Gatwick Westjet did offer us a flight on Sunday ! In the end, we are not sure if booking thru Kayak was part of the problem as Wesjet staff said ..... Oh you booked thru a 3rd party Comments ?"

We waited 1 hour until we went to go talk to someone to inquire about the delay. They opened up a baggage claim, but the claim status only ever says open or closed, which says nothing about the status of the bag."

The boarding process was uneventful and normal. The plane was on the smaller side and a tight fit. Most people had to plane side check their luggage. The pilots seemed pleasant. We waited about an hour from leaving the gate to actually taking off with no information from the crew as to what was taking longer than normal. The flight attendants were informative but aggressive about the mask policy and spoke on the PA system often and for long periods of time. The attitude of the flight crew about several issues made the passengers tense. We arrived about 30 minutes behind schedule but safely.

A REVIEW BASED ON FACTUAL EXPERIENCES ON FORIGN CARRIERS AND THEIR SERVICE COMPARED TO AA and Other US CARRIERS, FIRST CLASS WHAT ? YOUR price for what not much more then a premium class seat AND ALL YOU OFFER IS a can of coke and a pkg of Fig Cookies ? Seriously. All 4 of my flights were first class, Joke of an offering, and each one sucked, I am American and I have flown over 800,000 miles and over 650 flights in 4 years, out of all these flights I've only flown US Carriers 12 times and I know that is a factual number. Jet Blue I will fly again, they act are a good and ran and they know how to take care of their guests AMERICAN AIRLINES JUST SUCKS Cathay pacific, Eva Air, Air Asia, Asiana, Korean Air, ANA, Thai Air ways and many more, I fly business class and every one of these airlines blows away these Sad Poorly ran US CARRIER'S, ,

The woman at the service desk quickly helped us print the passes but stated the mobile boarding passes tended to not scan. They took forever to let us know what was going on. Everything else went well. On top of that when I originally booked my flights, I had made sure to have 1.5 hr for a layover between my connecting flights. Well, they decided to move up my connector such that I had 25 minutes to run across 2 terminals. They only give you pretzels on the plane, and a single soda drink. They offer you "food bundles" but why do I want to pay $8 for a sandwich that costs $1 to make."

A very nice BA agent met me as I deplaned at London Heathrow and ran with me thru Terminal 3. Helped me clear security with a priority card and ran to my gate with 2 minutes to spare. The women was really nice and if it was not for her I am sure I would not have made my connection. I don't know if there is anyway to track her down and thank her but I would like to do so. The flight attendants were OK but not excessively helpful."

So I called American, they said they couldn't reserve the meal (even though the plane would be catered by their contracted food service-go figure THAT out!) and I should call the travel agent. Called the travel agent, who said I needed to call Iberia! Apparently no one could (or would) be responsible for my satisfaction. So the message here is: Beware the Code Share!"

I could not believe how unprofessional and unprepared Air Canada and the Toronto airport was during the holidays!"

Flying on the older 767-300ER also has more shoulder and leg room than some of Air Canada's newer configurations for the 787 and 777."

On American Airlines and United Flight attendants make announcements over the PA to (a) step out of the aisle to let people pass, and (b) place larger suitcases in the overhead and smaller bags under the seat. That way they try to ensure there is enough bin space to accommodate everyone. Passengers on Air Canada stuff everything in to the overhead bin and nothing under their seat, leaving little for those boarding after and delaying the flight because flight attendants are looking for bin space. If they were more pro-active, it would speed things up."

All whilst explaining this was our honeymoon and we would really like to sit together as husband and wife. Then once we boarded the guy sitting next to me was happy to swap seats with my wife as he had back problems and had asked for an aisle seat but was denied. Finally we are underway and I find that my entertainment touch screen doesn't work so even though it is one i can't select anything to watch. Plus to top it off the seat arm rest was broken. Obviously with a fairly full flight with no 2 seats together their wasn't much that could be done immediately but where is the maintenance and actual physical plane quality? Do your engineers or staff not check things? Overall dispite this being our national carrier I am ashamed to claim that. Many of our overseas visitors for the wedding from Australia and Europe also had similar complaints."

For example, I was either stepped on (as a result, being woken up) or my backpack was stepped on several times when an attendant was walking down the aisle, and neither of those things were sticking out into the aisle. This has rarely happened to me on trans-Pacific flights (more crowded, longer flights) so I can only attribute it to the carelessness of the attendants and/or the aisle width but since I think aisle width follows international standards it's more likely the former."

ALSO: Although there was no charge for baggage on our flight out, and nothing written anywhere about a baggage charge, yet on the return flight we were hit with a $90 baggage fee!! The flight was already too expensive but that was just adding insult to injury"
