Overall experience was excellent
If you want a flight that treats you like a luggge or a cow or a non existent person. This is it. Where do I start?! The earplugs will give you a migraine. The movie/tv screen is unresponsive or has a 5 second delay time. Some functions on the tv screen do not work. Two small disgusting meals that even prisoners do not receive You cannot buy extra food or anything on your flight. Bathroom stinks. The flight was dirty to enter with. My first and last time using avianca This is a disaster.

Several people were allowed to bypass the line, as they were 'late' for their flight. When we were close to being served the attendant 'placing customers in lines' directed four or five groups from the special needs line ahead of our line in a row. We were told we had missed the baggage check in by 2 minutes and had to pay $60 usd to take an flight 2 hours later. We were then yelled at that we had been in the wrong line. There was another line, very fast one, one the opposite side of the gate area for those with 'bag drop' only needs. I had showed the airline personnel our check in info on my cell and was placed in the wrong line by them. So many problems at airport check in with this airline."

Air Canada flights are way too cramped with little leg room. Furthermore, hot dinners are rare which is somehow standard on other Airlines' international flights.
To cold in the cabin instead of A/C the heat should have been turned on. The food is lousy as usual and my luggage is lost. That is about the size of it.
We didn’t get to go directly to Munich because our first flight was operated by Air Canada and arrived late. We were rebooked through London. Lufthansa was unsympathetic and not helpful. Since I paid for the tickets that Lufthansa sold us we had a contract and Lufthansa did not hold up their part.

Bread stale. Croissant stale. Person behind me was kicking me throughout flight. Boarding slow.
So many minor delays, very little communication, and what there was, we couldn't even hear in the first place.
An hour and a half late, which forced me to miss my connection to next flight.
The flight was delayed several hours with no update as to when we would be taking off. We finally boarded the flight and waited over an hour on the phone for the bag crew to come and load our bags. After landing in Cleveland, both of our check in bags never showed up and are still missing. This is the worst airport and flying experience I have ever experience
There was a 2hr delay to an 8:40 departure. SUPER irritating. Had chosen an earlier flight so that these kinds of things wouldn't happen. Breakfast was poor a croissant and a yogurt. Not enough for an adult, I've had better on other international flights.
Cons: "Flight was delayed in Frankfurt due to technical issues. That was fixed, but ended up missing the flight to Minneapolis. Lufthansa provided vouchers to hotel and shuttle to the hotel (holiday inn express) and back to the airport. We stood out in the cold for 45 mins but the shuttle did not show up. Ended up taking Uber to the hotel only to find out their shuttle service does not start in the morning before 5:30 am. They booked me on a 6 am flight with 5:45 boarding time. The hotel scheduled a taxi to pick me up at 3:30 am to make back to the airport on time. I ended up spending $70 and I’m totally exhausted. I wished I just stayed at the airport. Not to mention the quality of the hotel accommodations is less than average. Very disappointed with how this whole situation was managed."

Pros: "the magazine selection prior to flight, bottle of water in front of each seat and crew were great, the pilot's landing was amazing! The seat in front of me had weird legs that made the room under the seat smaller than other seats around me. So you couldn't fit in the carryon fully under it as you could under the seat diagonally from me, however, this ended up being a huge plus since I could use the legs of this chair in front of me as stepping places to place my feet during flight. Since airline does not provide foot rest, it was great to have this to elevate the feet for a long flight. More considerations should be give to provide footrest or at least these kind of foot elevations."
Cons: "The dinner and breakfast were a bit disappointing, but not bad and not a deal breaker at all since the rest of the flight was wonderful. I noted comfort as ok, but that's applies to all airlines - the seats in economy and no footrest is very uncomfortable, but that's on all economy flights, so no deduction of points there. I do want to note that I needed a boarding pass at the gate and stood in line for quite a while (I was first in line) before I was even acknowledged by a lady who ended up helping me eventually. But she was so cranky! (there were 2 ladies - one busy helping the crew and putting around barrier - she was fine, the other with a head covering (putting this hear just to distinguish the ladies as one was doing a great job)- not sure what she was doing, but she plainly ignored me standing at the desk in front of her, I didn't say anything, just patiently waited until she acknowledged me, and then she printed the boarding pass for me, but she was way to cranky to be in the job that she is in - no need for that kind of attitude."

Also, it was like 9-10pm local time by this point so dinner made no sense! Then the lights were dimmed and people tried to sleep. The lights were turned on 1.5 hrs prior to landing to serve a light breakfast. So, 6.5 hr red-eye turned into about 3.5 hrs of actual sleeping time. I would've preferred to be left alone and given a bigger breakfast."

After a tense 20 minutes of waiting, they closed the flight and let us have our seats. Then, at the gate, they confiscated two of our most important carry on bags and checked them because they said that children are not allowed a carry on item -- despite paying full freight for their seats! It was very nerve-wracking at our arrival destinations as these two items were not padlocked and were the very last to come on the conveyor belt."

But I change my mind and decided to have a cary on. when I arrived at the airport I told an agent that I wanted to bring my suitcase as carry-on and she said that it was too large. So I had to wait in line. When I finally fot to the counter the agent and the agent realized I had already paid. She said that I could try take my suitcase under my own responsibility because she thought security would send me back. I was very surprised to hear this because it is a computer case. I did not have any problems and was able to embark. The plane had not bern clean. The pocket underneath my table had a used kleenex and the table of the person seated next to my had coffee spilled. During the 5:50 hrs only once were we offer a drink. Really bad service for an international flight."

I bought two tickets recently and in one of them the 6-letter confirmation number is displayed right on the first screen when using the app, easy to find and access. However in the second ticker, I got the airline ticket number (a series of numerical digits) that honestly are not helpful when checking in at the airline kiosks. Thanks, something to think about."

Cons: "My connecting flight to Mexico City was delayed and I missed my flight to Leon. Instead of charging a fee to re-book the flight I had to pay for two new one way tickets at a cost of $600! The late evening flight was almost empty, so I felt ripped off. In 30 years of airline travel I've always felt that the airline tried to work with me in re-booking. In this case I felt that Aeromexico took advantage of me. I will avoid using Aeromexico when possible because of this incident."

The biggest problems don’t show up in the numerical rating above, but there were: — problems with web checkin (it didn’t work until ~15 hours before the flight), — problems at baggage check (non working printer = nonmoving line), — the flight was delayed and the gate was changed at the time of boarding (which we learned because we received an email from Kayak(!) as we were standing at the gate, NOT AeroMexico, who delayed in changing the sign & then didn’t make an audible gate-change announcement), — possibly because of the gate-change and a late-arriving flight, our bags were not put on the flight with us. — I am particularly irked because we had to pay extra in order to be able to sit with our young children, and were supposed to get priority boarding along with that, but instead ended up in the last boarding group (thank goodness we were still able to fit our one carryon suitcase)."

Overall the flight was okay. My problem was with the tepareture inside the aircraft. I was freezing entire trip.

Cons: "Gate attendant was fairly rude (could be a result of holiday travel stress) - several travelers didn’t speak English fluently, and she would snap at them or roll her eyes they weren’t comprehending instructions. Boarded extremely early (almost an hour) but sat on tarmac for some time - eventually took off about 20 minutes late. Not airlines fault and likely result of holiday backlog Retrieving baggage from plane was biggest issue - use a carry on to but was required to valet bag as opposed to storing overhead. Baggage unloading was late (again, holiday backlog) but no personnel were available to inform passengers of delay, and bags were not in initial cart. Resulted a delay of offloading by roughly 20 minutes. Was ultimately found in the second wave of luggage, and witnessed baggage handlers tossing luggage carelessly onto cart floor. Nothing was damaged but was annoyed at lack of communication and overall disorganization."

There were 5 people trying to connect to the same flight so it’s pretty rediculous that we were told to rebook when the plane didn’t leave the gate for 15 more minutes. This was the call of the airline and it was handled poorly. The rebooking agent was also extremely rude and seemed totally self absorbed. This was my worst flying experience out of approximately 50 flights this year. Never again American."

Cons: "Unfortunately our plane was grounded in Chicago before our leg of the trip even began. By the time it arrived in YYZ many of us would already be missing connections. Due to a smaller plane we have to stow most of our carry on below which caused a bit of chaos while disembarking trying to retrieve bags and hustle to the next flights. Since I knew before leaving YYZ we were quite delayed my husband drove to ORD to pick me up instead of waiting 24hr for the next flight to St. Louis. It added 8 hours of driving for him to an already long day but we made the best of it."

Cons: "This turned out to be a 'code share' flight operated by American Airlines. As such, neither Qantas nor American Airlines would allow me to buy premium seats so we could have extra leg room. They said the 'code share' blocks seat sales! Be ware Also found out that American Airlines does not serve meals on flights from Toronto to LAX. I was told they only serve meals on "international flights" but that I could buy a sandwich or snack. Unfortunately they only had 4 sandwiches on board , which sold within the first 2 rows of the plane!"

Other than that, the flight attendants were not kind in any way and items present in the onboard menu, were not available, as I asked for Pringles and there was none. I did not see anybody eating some food in this flight, other than the mini pretzels served. How a 3hour flight arriving at 09 PM, had no food onboard?"

Cons: "Background info: we flew from Dublin to Toronto (Aer Lingus) and we were supposed to fly Toronto to Los Angeles on American Airlines; however, we had a British Airways flight number for both of these flights. We missed our connecting flight in Toronto with American Airlines (we had a 2 hour layover) despite landing on-time (de-boarded a few minutes late). I suggest avoiding the Toronto airport ALWAYS as every passenger must pick up his/her luggage even if you have a connecting flight, and then re-check the baggage with the next flight. Apparently the baggage handlers were on strike and some of the customs agents as well which added to the delays. Well, after going through Canadian customs and picking up our luggage (which took quite awhile) we arrived at the American Airlines ticketing kiosk about 45 minutes before our flight. The computer told us we were too late for this flight and to see a representative. We proceeded to wait in line for an American Airlines representative only to be told this was Aer Lingus' fault (we had just flown with them); even though we had a BA flight number.. After searching for an Aer Lingus representative we were finally told they were probably all on the Aer Lingus flight that was currently about to leave. An Aer Lingus representative was paged to the ticketing counter (took well over 30 minutes for anyone to show up) and what proceeded was an argument (for well over an hour) between British Airways and Aer Lingus representatives about whose responsibility it was to re-book us. After an hour at least of poor customer service, we were finally rebooked by British Airways on the last flight to LAX (on Air Canada). Moral of the story: avoid Toronto and fly direct."

(Our traveling companions ended up missing the flight home in the confusion.) The airport is going through renovations, maybe it will improve. The flight to LA wasn't stocked properly with food. They ran out of sandwiches/fruit and cheese plates by the first few rows in the main cabin. No earbuds available for those who needed them. Cramped seating. This flight was with BA partner American Airlines"
