Pros: "Friendly crew. Professional."
Cons: "Flight was three hours late (not because of weather). Pilots left seatbelt sign on during whole flight even though there was minimal turbulence."
Cons: "Had seat that didn’t recline and not in an exit row. My fault for not changing"
Pros: "The service was excellent and got help with the infant, friendly staff"
Pros: "every Single employee treated us great. Seating was very comfortable."
Cons: "The discontinued the tablets in plus after booking without notifying us. Not too impressed that we flew 9 hours plus time change and got breakfast followed by breakfast. On the way home we get dinner followed by dinner I guess"
Cons: "I missed the food"
Pros: "Cabin crew was very kind. It was a quick trip with no hiccups"
Cons: "Nothing really to note. It was a straight forward process."
Pros: "What a great experience flying west jet!! The crew was so accommodating. I got sick on the plane and there were so many people jumping to help me make sure I was confortable. I’ve flown all airlines and will be flying West Jet again."
Pros: "Overall an easy experience. Cheap!"
Cons: "West jet has got to figure out a better way to board the plane- the "zone" model is a nightmare."
Pros: "Always a pleasure flying with Westjet! We even arrived 15 minutes early"
Pros: "It was easy getting through the line and onto the plane. The seat was on the window, which I wouldn't normally sit in, and was comfortable enough for me to get an hour of sleep on an overnight flight; I'm content with that."
Cons: "The fee for changing my assigned seat, thus the window seat, and one of the flight attendants was very impolite; though overall the flight attendants were pleasant enough."
Cons: "Due to the fact that my trip to was not clearly indicated as non stop it is the first time in thirty years of regular travel that I did not have a direct flight to Calgary. Then I was not able to change my flight at the airport even though there was room available on a direct Westjet flight leaving as close to the same time. But the worst part as after landing we waited for a very long time for the plane to pull up to a gate (unnecessarily burning fuel and poluting the environment). And finally we waited another very long time for the doors of the plane to be opened for disembarkation. More than 3/4 of an hour waiting on the ground after a one hour flight very late in the evening. As a result I hat to take a cab home from the airport. Now I will try my best to not fly Westjet."
Pros: "The on board entertainment is very good, just remember to download the westjet connect app."
Cons: "Seats are ok, very cramped together, hard to get in and out of. I had picked plus seats but kayak didn't honor my selection so was forced to sit at the rear of the plane. As for the flight itself, the airliner sells only Coca Cola products, no cash purchases, credit and debit only. No free bag checks,"
Pros: "Everybody was nice. It was my second time flying and they sure do make you feel comfortable."
Cons: "Nothing I didn't like. It was great all around!"
Cons: "Boarding attendant demanded to see my passport for a domestic flight even though I had produced the government-issued photo ID required."
Cons: "I was told they don't help you store your carry on. At 66 and 5 feet tall this seems like an impossible feat likely to create issues as it falls on my head."
Pros: "Crew was good as usual."
Cons: "Thought the flight may have been delayed due to issues with ice rain in Toronto. From what was said, it wasn't that, some other issue with the plane and a cancelled flight in the west. No email in advance, no apologies, no freebies (like even a stupid sandwich). You sit an extra 2 and a half hours in an airport with a 5 year old before a 4 hour flight, and see how much the lack of anything grates. And paying for the first bag on the flight. And the emails they did send were after we were already at the airport-in no time to do any good. I Usually like West Jet , but losing my faith in them. Wonder how flair is..."
Pros: "Good in flight entertainment and food"
Cons: "Not enough leg room"
Pros: "Great service"
Cons: "It was all good"
Pros: "Relatively smooth ride."
Cons: "Plane was 40 minutes late, lights were left on, no wi-fi, had to walk out on the tarmac after being on a hot holiday, seats were squished too close together."
Pros: "Nice, professional crew."
Cons: "I have a dog in the plane with me. None of my flights offered to make me board first. It harder to move through the aisle by myself with my pup in her carrier and my personal effect . Some nice passengers helped me when they saw I was struggling but O feel that is the crew's job."
Pros: "THE flight got me home"
Cons: "Th check in staff made light of what seat I was assigned stating it was the best seat. 23A a bulkhead back row seat that did not recline. I was then Seated next to an individual that should have had two seats to themselves instead of most of my seat and theirs. I was literally pressed into the bulkhead by the very large person next to me. Who had another large individual next to them. WestJet used to be a great airline that Had a little more legroom. Now airlines like flair offer the same flights with more legroom wider seats and far lower costs. WestJet has lost me as a customer that used to pay a little extra if There was a WestJet flight option"
Pros: "Both planes departed late and reason given was staff has not yet arrived . First plane could not rationalize the number of people on board ."
Cons: "Service was slow and staff seemed to be very casual about the fact we would be an hour late"
Pros: "Quick and direct. Great staff"
Cons: "Of the four flights I took with WestJet this holiday, 3 were delayed. The flights were frigid. On this flight the agent at the gate was very rude when I asked about checking my bag, lecturing me about the size of the bag and insisting she would have to charge me if it was a full flight, which she said it wasn’t. It ended up fitting just fine in the overhead. Totally soured my experience. I will not use this airline again."
Pros: "The crew on the plane were very friendly"
Cons: "Was told to go to the wrong place by multiple people when trying to get to u.s. connections in Edmonton. Almost missed my flight because of it"
Pros: "The WestJet staff, from gate check in to the flight crew, were excellent."
Cons: "The fact that people with pets board first is ridiculous enough to keep me from choosing WJ as my first option. They boarded before seniors and children. What has happened to our crazy world that pets are more important than people."
Pros: "On time, clean, friendly staff."
Cons: "Crew missed me with the drink cart."
Pros: "A short haul flight"
Cons: "No issues"
Pros: "The staff were friendly as they had to deal with many annoyed customers. I thought the staff handled the constant delays and cancellations well."
Cons: "My flight to Calgary never happened. In fact due to weather conditions, many, many flights were delayed, some cancelled. No more flights to Penticton, so I had to take a flight to Kelowna after 6:00pm or fly the next day. I met a couple to share a ride to Penticton once I reached Kelowna. My luggage was lost in Calgary and so I went on to Penticton, to Osoyoos. The next day, West Jet delivered my suitcase to me. I appreciate the voucher I was given to buy a few things and the promptness of my luggage. We live in Canada, the weather in the winter can be quite an annoyance and so it was last week."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful."
Cons: "Overhead bins were full so as a result my carry-on baggage ended up in the cargo hold. And they treated me like it was my fault. Because of that I had to wait for it at the baggage carousel and I missed my Ferry. Pretty pissed about that."
Pros: "All Good"
Cons: "After landing in Edmonton could of been on next flight to Kelowna ended up waiting 1 1/2 for second flight to Kelown"
Pros: "The crew and staff were great on the plane. Could use more staff at the checked bags area but overall good experience"
Cons: "More agents at the check in desk"
Cons: "They lost my sleeping bag before my backpacking trip forcing me to buy a new one and would not reimburse me."
"Air Canada crews are very professional. I am a long time customer and keep going back becausr of how i am treated"
Pros: "The on-board crew were great. Super friendly and chatty. Almost a WestJet feel instead of the serious aloofness that AC is known for"
Cons: "The entire HUGE MESS from booking til sitting on our last airplane. The “new reservation” system is a horrible joke. The right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing so you get completely wrong info and they won’t do anything about it. I’m a wheelchair assist and had to call 6 times to remind them to put it on my ticket even though each time I was shown that it had been added. They kept seating on the back row of the plain and blamed me for not calling ahead to “let them know I was wheelchair assist so they could reseat me” BUT...they won’t answer you call unless it’s 24 before your flight and then to check at the airport who then tells us it’s out fault cause we didn’t call more then 36 hrs ahead...YOU CANT CALL THAT FAR AHEAD...and ...get this “they don’t have wheelchair assist on my ticket/file”. I about lost my mind over the hours on hold and every different answer as to what what to do and in the end blamed us. ASTONISHING TO ME. THEN THEY HAVE THE NERVE ON-BOARD TO ANNOUNCE THEY ARE THE BEST AIRLINE IN NORTH AMERICA 2019...HORSE PUCKY!!!"
Pros: "We upgraded to business class so service was super attentive"
Cons: "Business class on AC was equal to premium economy on west jet but lwithout the amenities on west jet"
Pros: "The crew was pleasant and helpful"
Cons: "No free snacks just drinks! Its a four hr flight. We left late due to slow boarding and they were slow to load baggage. The legroom is just too small for a flight over 2 hrs"
Pros: "Premium economy service and seat."
Pros: "Great Crew"
Cons: "Slight departure delay - no big deal"
Pros: "It was a small twin prop so there was only one cabin crew, but she was really pleasant."
Cons: "Instead of just staying on the plane we were required to deplane and take all of our luggage and haul it all through a long winding ramp and hallway into the airport. As soon as we got there, they said it was boarding immediately and we had to turn around and haul it all right back."
Pros: "Considering the thousands of passengers who saw their flights cancelled because of the grounded 737 Max’s the fact that I was on hold for only 30 minutes and then got rerouted for the next day is amazing! Thank you Air Canada."
Pros: "Early flight was not as crowded"
Cons: "But was very busy just the same. Weather was poor"
Pros: "Friendly crew."
Cons: "Being 6' 4'' becomes an issue with modern seats."
Pros: "Overall, the experience is fine. The flight entertainment selection is extensive for a short haul."
Cons: "Given that the entertainment selection is extensive, the connection ports are not working properly. Not all USB charging port and the power outlet port works as expected. The seat that I sat at does not charge and/or provide proper power."
Cons: "Sitting around Calgary airport for 7plus hours, Late arrival in Toronto at 6am - meetings start at 8:30. Second major delay (mechanical) in 3 weeks - losing confidence in AC"
Pros: "Only thing good was the brevity of the flight."
Cons: "The aircraft was dirty and ridiculously cramped. Air Canada undermines its brand by flying planes like these."
Cons: "JustFly did not release my coupon to Lufthansa or Air Canada, and so I was nearly prevented from flying."
Pros: "ground crew were friendly"
Pros: "Movies available. Food available for purchase."
Cons: "It was crowded in the back of the aircraft. Many vacant rows were available, but my advance check in and seat change / upgrade was not available on line. I would have paid to have moved up to an un-occupied section of the aircraft if I could have. My mistake. I should have got up and walked around looking for these vacant seats. Despite the captain announcing that WIFI Internet was available for purchase. There was no WIFI on this aircraft. I am a tech guy. The flight attendant said just use your credit card. NO there was no WIFI available."
Cons: "My seat was wet and i had to wait quite a while for it to be rectified. I asked to sit on a crew seat at the back of the plane and was told that i would break it. I found this rather disgusting . Seating plan is very crammed like sardines"
Pros: "The staff - they're always pretty good. The food is also very decent - lot's of jokes about airline food but it's not bad."
Cons: "The seats need some sort of engineering redesign - like maybe they all recline in a row. Airplane seats are never comfortable. Also, for entertainment, they offer USB and AC power which is good, but they should also look into upgrading all the tablets and running linux on them or some operating system with less overhead - the movie displays are really slow and unwieldy."
Cons: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"
Pros: "I was reading so much about how cramped and uncomfortable the seats on Air Canadas 787's, but I don't think their product is any worse than most other economy class products out there."
Cons: "Their "continental breakfast" was a dry piece of banana bread and yoghurt. No jam, butter cheese or other spreads to compliment with your bread. Most disappointing "continental breakfast" I have had on a plane!"
Pros: "crew was very helpful polite nice and welcoming"
Cons: "food was not fresh, hot meal was pretty terrible in both 2 flights"
Pros: "The attendants were friendly. The air conditioning was on point. Good music. I listened to the new slowdive for the whole flight."
Cons: "There wasn't anything I remember not liking. It was great."
Cons: "The seats are small and uncomfortable"
Pros: "Very good overall."
Cons: "Entertainment selection poor and dated."
Cons: "We were already running late when during take off, one of the engines malfunctioned and we had to emergency break on the runway and go back to the gate. Because it was unexpected, we had to wait even longer for a gate to become available. We then had to re go through customs and get our bags then wait in line again at the counter to schedule our flight for the next day. Thankfully we were given a hotel room and money for food. Very scary experience overall on the runway, but they tried to handle it as smoothly as possible under the unusual circumstances."
Cons: "Late arriving because of out delay from the original flight and missedvout on our hotel booking"
Cons: "The prop aircraft that Air Canada uses for the YYC-YEG route are old and cramped. They do nothing for the Air Canada brand."
Pros: "I didn't like anything."
Cons: "I was stuck in immigration for about an hour. The screening process at this airport is so laborious. You have to wait on a bench until they call your name and they don't care if your flight is about to be boarding. I understand that immigration is necessary but they could at least have people form a queue instead of having us wait for our names to be called. I told them that my flight would be boarding in 25 minutes and they told me "Oh, don't worry, they'll just put you on the next flight". But when I got to my airline to check in, they charged me $150. I needed that $150 to pay some bills when I got back home."
Pros: "The flight back to Newark was good. Boarding was smooth and crew kept walking around with water to keep everyone hydrated."
Cons: "The plane was old and cramped and entertainment system had issues. Movie choices were not that great."
Pros: "Kind crew"
Cons: "Littled staffed"
Cons: "I had to leave"
Cons: "Delayed by 2 hours, half and hour in the airport and another 1.5 hours on the tarmac (probably why I got sick just days after, sitting in the germ tube for that long) Seat did not recline, but was supposed to... No pretzels or peanuts offered like other airlines, just drinks Missed my connecting flight in LAX because of delay, but not after running frantically to my gate clear on the other side of LAX, customer service offered nothing to compensate for the flight we had just missed or any solutions for getting us home."
Pros: "Staff were friendly"
Cons: "Seats were narrow and sitting in aisle seat you were constantly hit every time cabin crew took trolley up / down aisle. Woke up by cabin crew banging into me."
Cons: "We had no tv couldn't charg my cell no one told as y it wasn't working"
Pros: "The flight itself was comfortable."
Cons: "The flight came in 20 minutes late, and managed to leave 1 hour late -- I've never before seen a flight become even MORE late because of the boarding agent. There was no communication whatsoever. There was only one agent working the gate. When it was time for passengers who needed help boarding, he took them back one at a time, leaving the gate completely unstaffed. When he came back, he strolled like there was no urgency whatsoever. Every other airline I'm on tries to speed up boarding if the plane is already late. I was amazed that they didn't even add a second agent to the gate."
Pros: "I didn't fly from Calgary to Vancouver."
Pros: "It was good experience."
Cons: "Snacks could be improved."
Pros: "Air Canada is not a goo Air Lines for customer service."
Cons: "I do not like there customer service policy."
Pros: "Having the leg room of the emergency aisle"
Cons: "29f is marked as a window seat, it is not. It's an emergency exit. No outlets were provided so I had nowhere to charge my phone. My on flight entertainment system was stuck in the out away position. I was very sick and the emergency exit had a terrible draft upon landing"
Pros: "Nice staff. Efficient boarding."
Cons: "No basic food for free."
Cons: "Too many people with more than two bags. You have to force more people to put there bags in the plane storage not overhead. Two many carry-on bags and people had back packs with another bag, some computer bags. It takes too long to board the plan"
Cons: "Lost my bag, I had to wait an hour and a half and missed a meeting."
Pros: "Super fast and easy process. Glad I flew air Canada"
Cons: "I had to pay for the food for my 4hr flight. It use to be that you were provided the food at no additional cost."
Pros: "friendly prompt service, comfortable seats - free tv and movies"
Cons: "had to circle for about an hour before we were able to land due to a storm but that wasn't the crews fault - just bad luck"
Cons: "The biggest problem was a late arrival resulting in missing the gate and need to wait a hour on the taxiway until a gate cleard."
Pros: "Decent movie and game selections."
Cons: "The flight attendants seemed unhappy, sassy and got frustrated easily."
Cons: "I found the seats quite uncomfortable which is unusual for me as I don't have back or neck issues. Once I was able to position the seat after take-off the comfort was improved."
Cons: "Q400 noisy, lack of storage space"
Pros: "I got to where I was going."
Cons: "Air Canada acts like a European low fare airline when it is actually just a major domestic carrier that nickels and dimes for everything and charges full cost."
Pros: "The plane could fly"
Cons: "German Shepard in my seat. We didnt have seats together. Very bad flight"
Pros: "Direct flight"
Cons: "Food, comfort"
Cons: "The outfitter canceled us so we did not go. It was out of our hands that the outfitter canceled us for certain reasons such as whether poor infrastructure, but we are still going to have to pay a Re-booking fee and Processing fee for each passenger."
Cons: "I work at an isolated mining camp and could not fly out due to weather and when I tried to reschedule or cancel my flight with Canadian north the cancellation fees, rebooking fees were more than the cost of purchasing a new flight straight through air canada. I will never use this service again."
