Pros: The Hotel Monteleone is an outstanding property. We were pleasantly surprised with our King room. It was small, but very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hotel bar is one of its trademarks. We enjoyed the carousel and the intimacy that it brings, all the while being able to chat with some of the other patrons. I had a 30 minute massage at the Spa Aria. The masseuse (Ellen) was excellent and very knowledgeable. The spa lobby was a bit overly crammed with merchandise for sale, but smelled great and had good attention at their front desk.
Cons: The concierge was not helpful to a guest, shrugging his shoulders and telling him he needed to get back in line for the front desk. It seemed to is like he could've assisted.

Pros: We have always wanted to stay at the Hotel Monteleone. Since we were traveling to New Orleans with friends from Ohio who have never been to the south, we decided to splurge. The experience and treatment we received during our stay was far above my expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted and assisted by the valet, doorman, and bellman. While speaking to the man during check in, my husband asked if a king upgrade was available. He then moved us to a king room complimentary. Our room was so nice with custom items making the stay extra special. We wanted dinner suggestions and some tour suggestions. The concierge, Anita, was great! She was very patient and knowledgeable of the area. She could tailor her suggestions to your specific requests. She was very great with multi-tasking and never once made us feel rushed on a decision. When one of the tours we wanted to book was sold out, she called 3 other vendors until she found an opening. The staff at Hotel Monteleone are all very friendly and speak everytime they see you. Even a lady from housekeeping stopped to ask how we were enjoying our stay. The location is central to EVERYTHING. When in New Orleans, we typically walk 8-10 miles per day, but Hotel Monteleone is so close we averaged 4-5 miles. This hotel is definitely worth the price.
Cons: I really have no complaints about my stay. The only thing to note are the small bathrooms, but this is standard in New Orleans.

Do yourself a favor and don't consider ANYWHERE else but Hotel Monteleone if you're coming to New Orleans.

Pros: Excellent service. Doormen were friendly and engaging; they greeted my two young children with our every entrance/exit and asked them about the activities in between, made some fun suggestions for meals and places of interest to visit- really added to the experience for each of the kids. Small rooms, but comfortable, good noise control - was not disturbed despite business of lobby and hallways. Beautiful foyer and delicious menu at Criollo, the restaurant downstairs. Will certainly return to this hotel for its service, comfort, attractiveness and convenient location.
Cons: Spa staff were not at the desk on more than one occasion, were haughty and were generally unfriendly during booking of appointments. Stark contrast to the rest of the hotel. Services provided were acceptable. Would NOT be likely to return to spa based on the unpleasantness of interacting with them.

Cons: Booked this room over 6 months in advance for the night before our wedding. Turns out we booked a day earlier than what we needed. I called the hotel to see if we could switch, but was rudely spoken to, hung up on twice when I asked to speak to a manager and when I finally did get ahold of someone in charge, they were unwilling to work out anything. I was at a loss for words. I travel to NOLA every few months and have always wanted to stay at hotel monteleone. So disappointed with the customer service, the way they spoke to customers, and although we did end up staying there that night, it will be the last time. Go to the bar, don't spend the night

Pros: - The location was in perfect proximity to the French Quarter (in the French Quarter) on the gorgeous Royal St which is, in my experience, the prettiest street in the French Quarter - There are ample antique shops, art galleries, restaurants, jazz clubs and cafes nearby - The hotel is exceptionally lovely, very clean and well-maintained - The rotating carousel bar on the first floor is fabulous with a great jazz band on Saturday nights. - Rooftop pool is gorgeous but was always full - The Spa sounded fantastic
Cons: - The cost of the parking was extremely high (~40+ per day) Even after checking out and only being in the area for < 15 hours the last day, we still had to pay the full amount for the day. - The pool was always really crowded which speaks to the popularity of the hotel

Pros: Overall, the facility was gorgeous. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, the pool was beautiful and atmospheric, but the service left too much to be desired. When we called to the front desk for assistance of any kind, we were met with tones of condescension. Almost as if asking for a room service menu, as are room had none, or ordering room service was a bother to them. We waited an hour for a Cobb salad to be delivered, only to find that it was missing bacon, egg, and avocado...practically half the salad! For the price of the salad, I expected so much more. I certainly could have called to notify them of the issue, but after having waited at long we did want to waste more time. Apart from the lack of care for customer satisfaction dealt out by the front desk, we also ran into issues with the bell man. At first, he offered to look out for our scheduled taxi, while we waited inside. But, we soon realized that he wasn't going to follow through on his offer as he was standing inside chatting it up with a co-worker as time came for our taxi to arrive. So, we got up and went to look for it ourselves. This is not to say that all of the customer service personnel were lacking. There were certain individuals who were kind, friendly, and attentive to our needs. But, I would say by and far that customer satisfaction is not apparent by their services rendered. If you're looking to feel like you as a customer and a person matters, then stay far away from Hotel Monteleone. If you're looking for a beautiful place to stay, then by all means, book that room!

Pros: Rooftop Pool and Carousal Bar are a must to see when you stay here. The beds are also very comfortable and plush and the built in mini-fridge was very convenient (not filled with items meant to upcharge which I appreciate). This place is definitely a go to place to stay in New Orleans

Pros: Hotel Monteleone is a beautiful, grand old property steeped in literary history. The service staff was excellent for the most part.
Cons: There was one young woman working the rooftop pool area (I think she was supposed to be a waitress) that seemed she would rather not be there and the guests were pretty much ignored while she got some reading/studying done. Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with the fact she was reading in her down time but she needed to be batter at multitasking and taking care of the guests- perhaps the bartender could have said something to her to keep her head in the game.

Pros: I loved how attentive the staff was and how quickly they addressed any issues or questions. I loved the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the Carousel Bar and lobby were beautiful, and they were more than accommodating.

Cons: Our only complaints were that the tv didn't always work very well. It would cut out for no apparent reason and sometimes just stop working. We also felt that the movie rentals were absurdly expensive. I've never had a hotel charge $19 for almost every movie available.

Pros: The hotel was great. I travel a lot and this was one of the nicer places I have been.
Cons: The only two negotive things I have to say would be. 1) the breakfast buffet wasn't worth the $21. It's the same mass produced powdered egg bacon pancakes....that you get at crapy hotels for free. There is a omlet station and a big selection of pastries and fruit but I'm a eggs an bacon guy and it was horiable. The second negative I have is dependent. I stayed there for Mardi Gras and they shut down a lot of streets, so you have to walk because the taxis won't and can't take you down town. and its a long walk to Burbon street. It is located right next to the stadium if that's where you are going.

Pros: Beautiful, totally updated and high tech. Not overly luxurious but nice and super comfy rooms. Great gym facility and pool looked nice but we didn't venture down there. Can get busy with conferences and hear it's busy during football home games. Decent location if you don't mind walking. Street car stops right outside hotel which is mostly convenient unless it's running late or comes early. If it's busy (people buying tix, traffic) it can take a while longer than anticipated to get to your destination. We walked back from the French Quarter a few times...not a bad walk, probably around a mile. The location was fine for us but may not be for everyone. For the great rate we got for the amenities, the trade offs were worth it. All staff members were super nice, super accommodating and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs.

Pros: It's the attention to detail that left us with a lasting favorable impression. Each employee of the hotel was very polite and at the top of their game at every brief interaction. It was a brief stay and what created the lasting impression was when we were departing the hotel a bellman made sure to tell us Good Morning, how nice is was to have us, and to have a wonderful day. We could have made it out the door without him saying much but he made sure to tell us these things with conviction and we felt that it wasn't just lip service. Nice job folks, from check in to check out. We'll be back.

Pros: The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Everyone I spoke with wanted to make sure we were taken care of and it felt like they were willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. I had a small reception for my wedding at The Redfish Grill that's attached to the hotel and it was a great experience. I believe our waitress was Anne or Anna and she was very kind, personable, and provided the best service possible. I would definitely recommend this Hyatt to someone looking to stay in NOLA.
Cons: The only con I have for the hotel is the Powdered Sugar cafe attached to the hotel. My husband and I didn't get our orders on time (in a busy setting, I would understand. There were only two or three other tables seated) and what we did get was continually incorrect with no apology or explanation. At some point my plate was taken from me without saying anything with my fork still on it where I had dropped it. Overpriced for what it is.

We were traveling with a small child and everyone was very accommodating. they were able to put us in an area removed from most of the rooms, so we didn't have to worry about the baby disturbing other patrons. Restaurant on sight was perfect for a quick breakfast and facility was very clean. Rooms are good size and we had a great view of Canal St.

The room itself was nice and large and came equipped with a coffee maker and small fridge. Bathroom could use some updating (tub/shower) but was certainly adequate with decent amount of counter space. We didn't eat in the onsite restaurant, but did have cocktails and snacks at the bar. Great time there with drinks made to order and delicious small plates to share. The bar staff were friendly, served impeccable drinks and couldn't have been more accommodating. Hotel also has a Starbucks inside with full service and selection as you would find in an offsite Starbucks store. Loved our stay at the Marriott on Canal Street and can't wait to return!!

Cons: We were unable to reach our hotel. No one told us when we made our reservations that Mardi Gras parades (at least two) would be passing by our hotel after 4:00 p.m. (which is check in) making it impossible to get to our hotel. We waited in traffic for over 3 hours trying to reach our hotel, then the New Orleans police started diverting all the traffic and set up barriers making it impossible to be anywhere near Canal Street. The front desk at the Marriott told us they couldn't guarantee we could reach the hotel by midnight. We had to drive to Baton Rouge to get a hotel and missed out being with family the next day for our grandchild's 1st birthday.

The majority of the staff was obviously focused on serving the wedding party & not the other hotel guests. - The entrance is very small, has a very steep, slippery incline and is difficult to navigate with luggage and vehicles.

Ongoing construction in suite next door until 6:30PM one night, and non- stop another night - we finally requested to change rooms/floor at 9:30 pm because they would not stop. Intermittent hot water. Fresh paint peeling off the door. Shower rod came down. Our room was not cleaned either day until we requested it upon our return to the room late in the day. Construction workers taking bins of rubbish down the guest elevators; hallways never vacuumed from debris at the end of the day. Staff were indifferent about our circumstances and at times denied what was going on. Wrote a letter to the manager and still have not received any response 5 days later. Very disappointing. Recommend not staying here until construction is complete.

Pros: The front desk staff headed by Shronette Davis is first rate. Their responsiveness to request was quick and the attitude was friendly and nice. We had a problem with our room upon check-in but the staff went out of their way to help remedy the situation. I like the way the shower door opens at the opposite site of the spray head so you don't get the floor wet when getting in The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast room is lovely and the wait staff extremely efficient.
Cons: The hotel issued a comp night for the first night mix-up but I had to process it through the booking service through Kiyack. But they haven't returned my calls. The rooms are too small, really for two people, not to mention 3 or 4. The bathroom is very small, with really no place to put the toiletries bags. There are no bath mats so you have to stand on a cold tile floor in your bare feet. The room only has one tiny waste basket in the bathroom. Need more. No way to call housekeeping directly

After a few minutes one of the bartenders made an announcement that there was a private event in an hour and a half and that we would all have to leave in an hour. At that time they started pouring our drinks in plastic and did not want to let us order food. Fortunately, he changed his mind and let us order a bowl of gumbo and the Thai ribs. It only took 15 min to get our order and we were out of there in plenty of time. The transition to a private event at the bar could have been a little less rude.

Pros: We attended an event at the Smoothie King Center and was able to walk. This beautiful hotel is centrally located to many of NOLA's attractions and restaurants. The staff was friendly and attentive,while the tradition of pb&j at 10:00 pm was a charming touch. The rooms are gorgeous as is the rest of the hotel.

Pros: My friends and I were very satisfied with our entire stay. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms were very comfortable. The coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator are three amenities that I think are often taken for granted! The PB&J bar is not only charming, but a useful and welcome snack when coming in late and not wanting to spend time or money stopping somewhere else for a snack. The rooftop pool and hot tub had amazing views. Though I didn't get to use it, the fitness center on the top floor also looked well equipped and taken care of. The staff was very professional, enthusiastic, and talented. From our hotel, we were able to walk to the French quarter in 10 minutes or less, had instant access to Canal St and the St Charles streetcar, and we were also able to easily walk to the two stadiums. Would definitely look to book here first upon returning to New Orleans.

Cons: Intercontinental is supposed to be IHG's flagship hotel. During my stay I killed three spiders in the bed. The duvet cover was torn and tattered in multiple places. The carpets were not vacuumed. Someone else's dry-cleaning tags were left on the floor (2). The drinking glass in the bathroom had dried toothpaste stains from someone previously before me. For three days in a row I turned the same drinking glass up thinking that it would be washed and would return to my hotel room to find that it had just been flipped over, uncleaned. The best yet was the last night that I stayed the cleaning staff had left a dust in my room by the door. I guess since they werent cleaning they decided to leave the tools for me do their work. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned about the cleanliness and too busy to give it much thought. Valet also higher than any other hotel in area. Will go back to the Holiday Inn Chateau LeMoyne north of the quarter, always clean in 5+ stays there.

Pros: The hotel is newly renovated and totally updated and modern from its previously 80s styling. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it was nice before but amazing now. Try a balcony room and go down to one of the bars for a signature New Orleans cocktail. It's 2 blocks from Canal and 3 blocks from Famous Bourbon Street. It's also perfectly located for catching games and events at the super dome. Bout 3-5 blocks. Not a bad walk at all. It's where I stay when I go to watch the Saints

Cons: The staff were rude, and considering I was paying a premium for a room that was broken and barely clean that was just the point at which I wanted a refund. I paid extra for valet parking and was then chastized for taking my own car right after they had pulled it up, and they had a change of shift. I stayed a Hyatt Place last time, and I paid relativly the same amount, and the staff was kinder, food was better, and room was much cleaner. I will not be staying here again. Other than location I would not tecommend this to anyone.

Our visits to NOLA have us in our rooms very little durring our stays... still want a clean room with hot water. Things will have to change a lot for me to ever stay there again. A week since staying here and I am still suffering from acute bronchitis, myself and every one of my friends who stayed in my room have the same illness. Our sink leaked constantly and soaked the carpet in the walkway of our room only making the mold smell worse. Housekeeping there my personal belongings on the floor, like my personal pillow and left it there. The carpet was gross and always seemed damp, along with the curtains. Beware if you have an allergy to mold.

Cons: The room was lacking basic items like bath towels, coffee cups. We were “upgraded” to a suite which had a queen spring with a twin mattress with the springs sticking out so we were unable to use this for our kids but still had to pay the upgrade price. Therefore the “upgrade” did not provide us with any additional sleeping space. The room door key did not work because they had to charge the lock. The concierge desk was impossible to reach to get towels, sheets, ect. It would just ring and go to voicemail. We tried to order food from the in house restaurant and they directed us to their in room menu which did not exist. Our room was two levels with an exit door on each level. I asked if they could deliver our sheets to the second level because we may not hear the knock on the first level and they said they were unable to go to the second level, even though this is a normal hotel floor with a normal hallway door entry so I was confused by this. Many of these issues are likely because they are short staffed with COVID-19 and hopefully will be improved.

Cons: I didn't like the fact I had to change rooms at midnight due to there being a MOUSE in my room. I was told I'd have a $100 credit to my room and that someone would assist me in moving. Whoever came up just handed us a key to the new room and left. I wasn't assisted with a cart to move. The new room was 12 floors higher but way more spacious. I was content until the next morning I went to shower and there was pubic hair or something slapped across the back of the shower meaning no one bothered to clean the shower....it probably could have been easily removed with a wipe of a cloth but apparently that was too much effort. As I checked out I mentioned my $100 credit which I now learned went back to the hotel. The fact that it was $100 to spend within the hotel was not communicated to me and in my opinion I thought I was going to be refunded $100 from room cost. I was very unhappy with that. How would I know to use the credit before check out and when would I use it between the time I had to transfer all my stuff to another room with no help,sleep,get ready and overcome being disgusted by the shower,and checkout by noon. I would like a refund for my stay. The manager supposedly is communicating with this company since this was a third party ordeal.

Pros: My girlfriend and I went there for Mardi Gras, and it was ideally located - near all of the parades, but far away from the French Quarter that we didn't get a bunch of drunk idiots yelling (although it still sometime happened, which is not the hotel's fault). That being said, it is within 5 minutes walking distance of the middle of the French Quarter. The room was small but very nice (the building is 100 years old). It was also very clean and the staff was overall friendly. For Mardi Gras they give you a wrist band so you can come into the hotel late at night (although they were a bit spotty on checking). Overall, a good place to stay (if you don't mind driving through the one-way streets of downtown New Orleans). You could do a lot worse, especially for Mardi Gras. 4/5 stars.

This seemed a bit unreasonable to me, and it would've been nice if the hotel had let us know beforehand. The continental breakfast is a hotel continental breakfast - mediocre. We were right on the edge of Bourbon St. and Canal St., but also close to the Superdome where we attended the US Women's' soccer game! We were able to check in an hour early and when we were leaving the doormen called for us a cab. Very nice experience and would stay again in the future! Definitely take a cab to/from hotel! It was a $36 flat rate and well worth it because they pick you up and drop you off exactly where you need.

Pros: The hotel is across the street and offers a tunnel to walk through to get to Casino. Very well situated and within walking distance to the French Quarter. The staff are very friendly and helpful with maps and directions and suggestions for restaurants and clubs. Checking in and out was a breeze. Every time we walked in or out of hotel staff would greet us with a friendly smile. The Casino very busy and lots of slots to choose from. Appreciated the no smoking atmosphere so much more than Harrah's Biloxi which still allows smoking and we had to walk out. Lots of food choices inside the casino. Diamond Lounge was very nice but food was awful.

They were left with coffee still in the mugs when we returned from a day out. It was obvious we were not going to drink all the coffee. I had to wash them myself in the sink. The "Steakhouse " restaurant in the Casino was a huge disappointment. Big bucks for steaks that did not live up to the price tag. Looked like a cafeteria style eatery, with no white linens to give it the high priced Steakhouse style look. Very disappointing and uninviting. We should have gone to Ruth Chris instead for the $200.00 price tag we paid for dinner. Everything is extra . The waiter very knowledgeable about wine and was very nice. Slots are also tight here. Diamond Lounge was very nice but the food options were awful. The Caesar's chicken salad was small, and the chicken breast was cold and overcooked and tasteless. The pretzels were not a good option either. Very cheeply put together. The wine was good . Enjoyed the free drinks but would not eat the food.

Pros: Let me just say, the room was so clean and spacious. My God, the tub could probably fit 3 people in it. I felt like I should have brought a bag of epsom salt to relax a bit more. There was also coffee in the room for you to make if you didn’t want to get up & out too early. The bed was very firm, often times when we travel the bed are too soft but not this time. Cons: I booked a room more than 6 months in advance. After I booked, I called the hotel directly because I needed a roll away bed. They said no problem, because I had booked an oversized room. Then, about a month prior to my trip I called them directly again to ensure that I would have a roll away bed. The person that I spoke to said that they would put a note in my account - which they did. When I got to the hotel to check in I was told that they did NOT have a roll away bed available because it’s a “first come first serve” basis. I had 5 people in a room with 2 beds, and no where to put that 5th person!! So we paid $566 PER NIGHT for someone to sleep on the floor because nobody told me either time that I called that they could not guarantee a roll away bed!!! I will be contacting corporate about this.

Cons: Everything has a huge fee associated with it, the valets were unfriendly and purposely gave us bad directions because we used self Park, our room felt like a motel six, the bed didn't have a comforter, when I called they acted unconcerned and sent up a thin scratchy blanket. The tv signal was terrible, the remote was from the 1990's, it literally took 4 seconds to change from one channel to the next. all of the appliances were unplugged. We were scheduled for 3 nights but we cancelled the last two and switched to a bnb in uptown. MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE. The same price when you add up all the extras the Hilton tries to gouge you on.

Prepaid over $600 for 2 night, wherein other conference attendees paid half the amount. 18th Floor, low water pressure. Mattress extremely hard. Weather was bad, so the hotel was convenient to access the Convention Center. This hotel deal was no deal at all for me. Seriously punitive foe me, though trying to take care of lodging way in advance. Over $600 for a single bed, 2 nights for a Regional Conference? Never again!

Pros: The decor of this place is awesome! It starts with the huge vintage-style lighted sign out front, and everything you see from that point on makes you say, "ooh--look at that!" (in a good way). The gorgeous tile-work on...well, everything, is amazing. And--I wanted to take all of the furniture home with me! The character of this building is something special. You don't complain about the uneven floors because you're staying in an old warehouse! How cool! Exposed brick walls (that aren't fake) are always great--I only wish they had left all of them bare instead of painting some of them. They also had great coffee and blueberry muffins!
Cons: It was quite warm for this time of year (high 70's in late-November), which of course is nothing new in the south, but the a/c units in the rooms were not so great. Pretty much the same as a window unit-loud, and hard to create an even temp in the room. The ceiling fan was also not great, and that's one thing every bedroom needs in my opinion. The room we had (queen interior deluxe, I think) was pretty small, but we didn't plan to stay inside much anyway. One last thing--watch out for the bed rails! I nailed my shin on the corner of ours three times.

The old coffee warehouse provides a great balance of historic charm with very contemporary decor. Location at the warehouse district is great, being very close to Harrah's and easy walking distance to French Market & Bourbon Street. Best value in New Orleans, without the upgrade!
Cons: As with most of New Orleans, parking is horrible. Expect to pay $30 for 24 hours in the lot across the street if you can't luck up on one of the few free on-street spaces.

Pros: We arrived at the hotel just before midnight on St Patrick's day. The area was still very much lively with St Patty's festivities. This gave us a chance to quickly check in (with friendly and helpful staff!!), drop off our bags and check out Bourbon St, which was the cross street of the intersection where the hotel is located. Bourbon St is what it is, but the hotel's prime location made it really easy to explore part of the French Quarter in the wee hours of the night feeling safe walking around.

Pros: We were very happy with the amenities and the room, our only negative was that the windows did not do an adequate job of keeping the street noise down! Made it very hard to sleep. Other than that it was great.
