Pros: "Excellent and responsive service from what must be the most attractive flight attendants on the planet. Seats even in basic economy are very comfortable with adequate legroom for my 250 lbs frame. Food is good with two choices and an option to customize online prior to the flight; and drinks are offered several times during the flight with numerous choices plus hot coffee and tea. Restrooms are cleaned several times during the flight and are stocked with amenities like toothbrush and paste, blindfold for sleeping, lotions etc."

Pros: "Comfortable seats in economy, pretty decent entertainment, our flight from Chixago landed in Taipei at 4am. Getting through immigration and customs a breeze."

Cons: "My friend had a long wait in line to get her boarding pass. She was denied at the counter to fly due to there being 40 minutes until her board time. She was not checking bags, and the security line was a walk through. But they would not issue her a ticket, cancelled her international flight, AND her return flight. She had to buy an entire new round trip international flight...All the while her plane was still on the ground...This did not make sense to me. This does not make sense to anyone I explain the story to, either. Your counters truly are always long waits. It was her fault she didn't leave enough time. But the lack of flexibility in rebooking and the inability to still use her return flight home? WHY."

All passengers must sit on the plane for 3 hours before we went out of the plane, at that time the flight attendants and crew leave without an explanation, We didnt know what happnened!!!!! And during 16 hrs delay in Sanfransico Airport, we didnt have hotel for rest, we really tired without sleep. I dont know how to explain my thinking about chine airline attitiude, really upset with their way about problem solving. I just can say that i will never flight with china airline again in the future..."

Delayed flight, then we got stuck in the queue to the runway, which could be prevented if flight was not delayed.
Left 2 hours late due to staff shortage. Did not arrive at my destinations until 1 AM and my wife was stuck waiiitng all that time and my pet in cargo was also cooped up for 2 hours longer than necessary. Sorry but this was not,good.
I like their overall services however I didn’t get my preferred food as it was finished.
The flight crew was nice and courteous. The food was terrible. There are no in-flight entertainment services, the plane is outdated and dilapidated, and the flight is delayed. Both from Newark and Montreal. Too bad.

Check in process was absolutely horrible. I've never had such a bad experience. They were say8ng I needed to complete a form rhey didn't even know what it was or what it was for. Then another Staff member was extremely rude to me for no reason. Started almost yelling at me and told me to stand back. I was not talking loud or rude at all and she just treated me terribly. I heard her treat others with attitude as well. Another one said we needed to all get on our flights on time so they didn't have to work overtime again!! As someone who works in Healthcare where you can be mandated overtime and redeployed I found this very unprofessional and unnecessary to tell all the customers this!!
First off, I don’t know if it was for branding purposes but this was NOT an “Air Canada” booking. Both departure and return flights were operated by United Airlines. This made the boarding process confusing and annoying, having to switch terminals in haste. I was even late for my departure flight in Chicago due to the confusion which resulted in a re-booking. Make the process easier in the booking email/app as to how to properly check-in/where to go for United Airlines flights under the Air Canada brand. Even the flight # provided were both different under UA. This was subpar service!

Pros: "Excellent attitude of the crew from AUS to SFO. They promptly addressed the overhead bin issues with the groups 1 and 2 boarding. We left on time, and arrived ahead of schedule. Smiles all around."
Cons: "Rules surrounding one personal item carry on: If bringing food to nibble and save to share later but wish to not place into carry on, I must pay the additional $30 at the check-in counter. Negates the savings and makes me wish to book another airline."
