Two hour wait for pick up, cars were available but they were shoe staffed and each transaction took far too long, some customers at counter for more than 20 mins ea. I assume b/c pricing and add ons were gamed and didn’t match reservation. We weren’t offered the car we booked, only one with an up charge.Reviewed 11 Mar. 2023

Pick-up took way too long, almost two hours through a line that weaved back and forth. When we got to the agent, we were told that this was how they kept prices down—high volume and not enough staff. While long waiting (more than 3hrs) was beyond the branch's control someway for the long weekend (Feb 18), the 1st vehicle I got was a Chevrolet Trax- would anyone call it a standard SUV (Nissan Rogue or similar as per my booking)? It went even worse later- the vehicle had a solid amber "Check Engine" light on just after 1 day of my rental. Showed up to the lot and waited in line for a rather long time in line before getting the opportunity to be an interruption to a clerk's co-worker gossip session. I told the clerk that I did not have a reservation number when she asked. She replied that Dollar does not take walk-ups and called the next person in line. Simple me, I should have made a reservation. I went to the back of the line and reserved a car. When I got back up to the counter the same clerk was gossiping with another employee. When I said I had a reservation she became demonstrative and suggested I was just trying to get a different clerk to rent me a car. I showed the new clerk my reservation. The original clerk asked me when I made the reservation. When I said I had made it ten minutes prior she said that I was cheating and told the new clerk not to honor my reservation until the following day. That's when I became upset, the rental payment was non-refundable, one-week, premium vehicle. Apparently the best Dollar rental can do is say, SOL, come back tomorrow in the afternoon. In the mean time, enjoy walking through Inglewood with all your luggage at 1:30AM.Reviewed 9 Feb. 2023
