Pros: I stayed at the Nikko Hotel for one night during the Nike Women's Half Marathon. Not only was a beautiful, and luxurious hotel but it was also in the perfect location in Union Square for the Nike Women's Half Marathon and Expotique. The customer service was phenomenal and they even extended check out for NWM participants. This was great because it enabled us to shower before our journey home. Thank you Nikko Hotel for such top notch accommodations! I will definitely stay here again next year!

Pros: The room was a perfect size, bathroom is kind of small and dated but the view was incredible and the staff was amazing. We had an issue with something called casting where you can view videos on the TV, to be honest, I really didn't care about it but my wife did. The tech support team was great, they came right up when we reported the problem, determined it wasn't going to work and they offered us 3 free movie coupons for our inconvenience. On our last day at the hotel, our flight didn't leave till 7 pm, we asked for a 4pm late checkout and despite the fact the hotel was booked solid, they gave it to us. I stay at this hotel most of the time I travel to SF, it's a great location, reasonably priced with lots of restaurants and stores at ones fingertips and the Bart station right outside the door making getting to and from SFO painless and inexpensive!

Pros: The location couldn't be more convenient, just steps away from the Embarcadero BART station, and very close to everything off of Market and the Embarcadero. The hotel itself is large and strangely appointed in some ways in the lobby (huge sculptures, dated music, pods of work or social spaces set out in the midst of an overwhelming visual scale reminiscent of Soviet architecture). That said, the staff was so welcoming and pleasant, and the rooms are clean, new, and quite comfortable. I did not try room service, but everything I experienced was worth the very affordable rate. I'll be back.

Cons: You're still downtown, so you walk out and it's a lot of homeless and the streets smell of urine, bad. The hotel staff is in no hurry for anything. Toom service took 1.5-2 hours and we even had a package delivered and they never bothered to bring it up. After three hours we told them forget it we'll get it ourselves. Cleaning staff is super nice. They were doing construction there so don't bother trying to nap during the day, because they were jack hammering the lobby. For the money I think there's better.

So many many things were wrong about this place.. had to part 2 blocks away because they don’t have parking and there was already like 50 cars parked right in front of the hotel, but I was asked to move 🤷🏾♂️ The king size room was just standard to me.. nothing that stood out as “Woooow” People at the front desk were rude! Then at the end of all that we got charged an additional fee.. the “Destination Fee”… needless to say I’m gonna pass on paying that! I pre purchased my room and that fee was not a part of it! Not worth the money to stay at such a low Brow place!!! I’m certain motel 6 can do better!

Pros: Everyone from the valet attendant, bellman, and front desk was beyond helpful and attentive. Even on a stormy rainy SF day, they were warm and ever inviting to me. They got me a room on the 27th floor with an amazing view of union square during the holiday season. I highly recommend. Also, the bathroom had great lightening and everything was very clean. Location simply can't be topped. Parking is a choice of valet between $41 around the corner and $60 front door. Wifi is also now FREE.

It was very difficult to sleep and sweated through the night. The shower pressure was very low. Having both shower head choices was nice, but it was difficult to feel clean because the water pressure was very low and so it took much longer to soap off. For a business hotel, you had to pay for internet. We used a hotspot instead. It felt a bit confused whether it was a luxury hotel or a business hotel, and for the price point I would stay somewhere else that has better value for money. Not having a good night sleep really affected my work day

I could hear the outside door to the stairwell open and slam shut. A group of people tried getting into my room because the front desk gave them the wrong room number. The hotel itself is average, its very old and outdated inside, the walls are thin so u hear conversations next door, and the rooms are small. Other complaint, probably more universal: really going to charge $14 to use hotel WiFi in one's room?! In 2015? First time rentimg hotel in San Francisco. Is this the norm? Free on lobby, though. Pros: Great location for a "staycation." We live in SF, and spent the night downtown. First dinner, then movie (at Embarcadero Cinema), then a stroll to the Ferry Building. All this within about three blocks. When we arrived, we were given a free upgrade to a slightly larger room (maybe it was a slow Friday night, but they didn't have to have done this). The room and bed were comfortable, although the TV was a bit on the small size (not tiny, just not huge). The room had plenty of room for the two of us, and the queen bed fit our two larger frames nicely. The "Living Room" on the lobby level was quite comfortable, with free espresso drinks and computers available. Free wifi throughout the hotel. We didn't try the restaurant, but there is a Starbucks on the corner (two doors down) that opens quite early, so we had a nice breakfast and coffee there. We enjoyed our stay, and thought the price was great for a downtown SF hotel room.

I asked about the pack and play and he said they never told him. I assumed he was going to ring our toothpaste and the bedding for the baby, no. They didn't tell him about the toothpaste either!!!!! He had to come back twice!!! It was late and waaaaay past the kids bedtime. Sooooo annoying. The ladies at the counter made it seem like they would take care of everything but they didn't. One of them even asked me about the crib check in. Very disappointed.

I was put on the 3rd floor with a window facing the hotels interior roof top. Zero view. There were large cobwebs above the bathroom door frame, the top sheet of my bed was yellowed on the underside and there were a few small stain marks on the sheets that were either wine, juice, or blood. King size bed was not comfortable at all. I HATE the hotels TV/entertainment system. The remote has a rollerball to control a mouse on the screen that is so small you can't read it unless you are sitting in the chair at the desk. Least user-friendly system I've ever used in a hotel. It's like you are watching tv through the computer's "tv application". Really strange.

Pros: The hotel was clean and convenient to getting around the city, especially the piers and fidi, which is why we chose it. The neighborhood is very touristy, which means the restaurants aren't great, nor is the shopping, but it's close to some tourist attractions if that's the purpose of your visit. The outdoor pool and spa were an added bonus! The hotel also offered laundry machines on each floor which was nice (though detergent should be included in the cost!). The room itself was very clean, comfortable and modern. There were USB plugs and big, bright windows as well as an ottoman for lounging while working. The included wifi isn't super fast, but can be upgraded if needed.
Cons: Some of the desk staff was less knowledgeable and friendly than I would have expected, but others were great and made up for it!

Not only did they book me in, but they beat the original price and converted it for me to $AUD for my small brain. Pros: This victorian hotel is very charming and all the staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. Because it is not a big chain hotel, the rooms are not all the same cookie cutter layout. I was traveling with my mother and both of us have some mobility issues. The room that we were originally booked in was one that had a smaller bathroom. Mary took notice of our needs and took the initiative to change our room upon our check in to one that had a little larger bathroom with grab bar. We really appreciated her attentiveness and our stay was much more comfortable with that added feature. The king size bed was super comfortable, the continental breakfast was good and the price was very reasonable. This was not my first stay at the Andrews Hotel and I look forward to returning.

Pros: In the midst of a move, I booked a night at the Marker and was upgraded to a suite. The room was an extravagant escape and I was greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate truffles. Pros: The location is perfect, located right in Union Square and 3 blocks from the Powell BART station. It's a &10 cab fare to the fisherman a wharf and here's a nice 2 mile walk back through China Town and North Park. The concierge was extremely helpful as well.

Cons: There was a whistling sound coming from my window when the wind blew. The window was fixed, so it was not slightly open. Cons: Horrible customer service. My fiancé and I were treated very poorly and when I talked to the manager Jeff, he was very apathetic. We asked for 2 bowls from Jeff later on and they never came. I had to go down to the front desk to grab the bowls myself. We also needed assistance with the television and no one ever came to help. If you are looking for a place where you are ignored and treated poorly for $200 plus a night then is your place. I am astounded that a place like the Hilton could hire such an awful manager as Jeff.

Cons: For such an expensive stay, there were few amenities. Traveling with an infant, it was very inconvenient not to have a fridge or microwave in the room. We ended up ordering a bottle warmer from Amazon Now because there was no other way to warm his bottle. Also, the internet connectivity was poor. The parking fee was very high. .

Cons: Oh boy..where should i begin? i was on a long business trip, checked in for 21 nights. Unfortunately i've experienced more issues in this hotel than in any other hotel i have ever stayed in, not just Hilton.. and trust me i stayed in many of them! Here's a summary of my experience at the HILTON SAN FRANCISCO FINANCIAL DISTRICT: [Air conditioning] At the very beginning, i was given an 'Upgraded' room with a nice city view, a balcony, and a non-working air conditioner. I called the front desk, who sent a technician that fixed the issue for an hour then it died again. The day after, i called the front desk and they sent a technician for the 2nd time, who told me this time that i either need to change my room or let him replace the entire air conditioner unit which will take 2-3 hours. Since it was 9 PM,i suggested he will enter my room during the day while i am at work and replace the unit, the technician confirmed and said he will come back the day after. a day passes by, i come back from work at around 9:30PM , and the air conditioner is still dead. I go to the front desk and they appologize and suggest to replace my room, i agree to do it the day after. [Water leakage] Overnight, at around 3AM i hear the sound of drops.. i turn on the light, and there is a WATER LEAKING FROM THE CEILING directly into my open luggage!!! I had to empty my luggage in the middle of the night and put it upside down to dry. clothes are now wet and stinky! The hotel management appologized and changed my room immediately. The managers (Anthony / Alonso) suggested to take my clothes and send them to the dry cleaning and so i did.. I thought that this will be the last incident i'll have..but of course i was wrong! [The noisiest room] Next, They put me in a new room which had a scenic view to the Bay, but unfortunately located next to the elevator which is the busiest area in the floor. Quickly enough i realized that the Elevator is not the only problem in the room, because right next to the elvator there's the floor's vending and ice machines which was used 24/7 so it was probabely the noisiest room in the hotel. (Who doesn't like to wake up in 2AM to the sound of a coca-cola bottle dropping of a vending machine right next to your door?) In that room (2701) i also had neighboors who: - brought a dog and put the dog in the balcony for hours, - smoked a bunch of blunts and threw the butts on my side of the balcony - Partied all night with loud music (till 4 AM) even though i called the front desk and the front desk confirmed that they will take care of it (which they never did. obviously!) [Keys that never works] Over a week or so, Digital key (Hilton app) wouldn't work anymore. I had to ask for Physical keys, which unfortunately didn't work more than once or twice. Eventually i had to go to the front desk and replace my Physical keys about 5-6 times in a week. [Elevator with a surprise!] At te evenings, you'll enjoy a long waiting line to the elevator. one of the evenings i waited in the lobby for 20 min just to get into an elevator! Eventually it seems like taking the elavator is slower than taking the stairs But that's not all, one day the elevator door opened and a revealed a very surprised couple who had sex inside the elevator!! (March 27th around midnight) So, if your'e into kinky sex scens you might want to wait for the elevator after all. [Overcharged] To make this stay epic - the final reciept shown that i've been overcharged $605 for parking that i never used!!! Called the accounting department and they admitted their mistake. [Conclusion] SOMTHING NEEDS TO CHANGE IN THIS HOTEL! and i say that as a Hilton Diamond club member who spent 100+ nights in the last year only. Due to tis stay, I am currently re-considering keeping my Diamond status, already registered to IHG and Marriot for my next stays.

Cons: I booked via kayak and which routed me via priceline. I paid extra for a queen bed with a bayview on a premium floor. However when I got to the hotel they said there is no such combination only the king beds have that combination. They either had a city view on a premium floor or a bay view on a low floor - where you could not see the bay. After some negotiating I settled on a double bed on the 18th floor with a bayview. Be careful when booking thru third party sites, it seems the descriptions are misleading.

Pros: For all the eco-friendly/green, modern people out there this may be one of your best options in the city. They do their best to be eco-friendly and I'm sure they'll keep making improvements. They also have free bike rentals which was nice! The staff was quick to help, it was a great deal for our money, the "double bed" room was small but that doesn't bother me, get a queen room if you need the space. Other than that I'm sure you'll like it.

And all the street parking surrounding it was only 1hr parking until 10pm

Pros: The location isn't terrible and the hotel is pretty cute. I think they must have raided an Ikea for the room decor. The parking lot isn't that big, and we had to pay $40 to valet at another hotel across the street. When we got to our room, we noticed it smelled funny and the carpet was wet under the window near the radiator. They moved us to another room which I think was a little smaller. The bathroom was unbelievably small, even for an older hotel. A larger person would have had quite a bit of difficulty getting ready in the mirror or using the toilet. Being that it was NYE, it was very loud. There were parties going on in other rooms and we could hear everything from loud music to couples having mediocre sex.

No AC and the room we had got pretty warm when the sun came up, but the windows open so we could still cool off the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free bikes for guests to use. Close to touristy areas and public transit.
Cons: Lobby and hallways were a bit dated. Location was a bit sketchy at night, but we never felt unsafe. Housekeeping was sporadic. During our 4 night stay our room was not made up on 1 day and when we checked in around midnight, they had to check to make sure our room had been cleaned. Can be noisy at night with outside noise.
