Unvaccinated visitors from Canada need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result and quarantine to enter Bermuda.
For restrictions that apply to vaccinated visitors, please check the official guidelines from Bermuda for the types of accepted and permitted COVID-19 vaccinations, requirements on proof of vaccination certificates, vaccination validity period, and persons and/or groups that may be exempt from vaccination restrictions.

Both visitors and residents must apply and pay $75 for a Bermuda Travel Authorization 1 to 3 days before departure and cannot travel to Bermuda without an approved Travel Authorization. Submission of a Travel Authorization within 24 hours of your travel date will not be approved.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 120 hours before departing to Bermuda.

Exceptions

Children under the age of 10 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 PCR test result.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from Canada will need to quarantine for 4 days upon entering Bermuda.

Details and exceptions

Fully vaccinated travelers (who arrive with a pre-travel test) are only required to quarantine until the release of a negative test result.

Unvaccinated travelers or those arriving without a pre-travel test must quarantine for 4 days on arrival at their home or accommodation. Travelers must take a COVID-19 test on day 4 and end quarantine with a negative test result. Wristband is required to be worn at all times.

Travelers who arrive without a valid negative COVID-19 test result are required to quarantine for 14 days.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Bermuda must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.

Exceptions

Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Bermuda will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.

Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
