Entry restrictions do not apply to citizens from Taiwan and their family members and foreign nationals with a valid R.O.C Resident Certificate. Foreign nationals that need to enter Taiwan for emergencies or humanitarian grounds will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and must receive permission from the CECC before applying for a special entry permit.
Travelers must have the Quarantine System for Entry on their mobile phone and must fill out the health declaration form.
Travelers may be exempt from the requirement if:
-Traveling for emergency reasons;
-Traveling from a country where testing is not available.
Special permission from Taiwan government agencies is required.
During the quarantine period, individuals, including vaccinated ones, are to stay in approved designated hotels or quarantine facilities (or at home if alone in a 1 person residence) and may not use public transportation or leave Taiwan. Those who do not comply will be penalized by the local authorities.
Travelers may be asked to install a local SIM card if they do not already have one. Mobile phone location monitoring will be used as part of the quarantine management process. Short-term business travelers may apply for a shortened period of home quarantine.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.
Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.
Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.
Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.
Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
Most visitors from Canada can enter Taiwan but you need to provide a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure and to isolate for 14 days
