Cyprus entry details and exceptions

Passengers who have been vaccinated and hold a valid vaccination certificate from the Countries referred here, regardless of their nationality, will be able to travel to the Republic of Cyprus, from any country without having the obligation to meet the prerequisites of the corresponding Country category, such as for example RT-PCR laboratory examination or self-isolation or issuance of special permission, for purposes of entering the Republic of Cyprus, provided they complete, within 24 hours before the last departure flight to the Republic of Cyprus, the necessary application form and obtain a CyprusFlightpass.

All travelers must obtain a Cyprus Flight Pass. All passengers traveling to Cyprus need to fill in and submit in advance, all required information and documents. Any travelers arriving in Cyprus without a Cyprus Flight Pass will be subject to a fine of 300 Euros.

Visitors from Canada are not required to quarantine after entering Cyprus.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Cyprus must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.

Exceptions

Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Cyprus will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.

Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
