Greece entry details and exceptions

Travelers from closed areas may arrive from other areas if they are in an essential category such as healthcare professionals, students, government members, diplomats, military personnel, humanitarian aid workers, airline crew, seasonal workers, travelers in transit, or travelers entering Greece for reasons authorized by the Greek embassy or consulate. COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Greece.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from Canada are not required to quarantine after entering Greece.

Details and exceptions

Mandatory isolation if they test positive for SARS-Cov-2, following a sampling test. In this case, the travelers and their travel companions are accommodated in quarantine hotels, where they will undergo further PCR testing to confirm the initial diagnosis. Guests will stay in seclusion hotels for a maximum of 10 days. The expenses of the accommodation in quarantine hotels are covered by the Greek state.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Greece must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.

Exceptions

Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Greece will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.

Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
