Grenada Travel Restrictions

Unvaccinated visitors from Canada will not be allowed to enter Grenada.
For restrictions that apply to vaccinated visitors, please check the official guidelines from Grenada for the types of accepted and permitted COVID-19 vaccinations, requirements on proof of vaccination certificates, vaccination validity period, and persons and/or groups that may be exempt from vaccination restrictions.

Grenada entry details and exceptions

All travelers must have a printed or electronic copy Pure Safe Travel Certificate. The application must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the date of travel.

Travelers are required to have a confirmed reservation at an Approved Accommodation or Apply for Home Quarantine at least 7 days prior to travel. Home Quarantine requests are made via the Pure Safe Travel portal.

Travelers must download contact tracing app "Ronatrac Mobile App" and register prior to travel, the app is not available for iPhone users yet, and they are currently exempt from this requirement.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Grenada.


Vaccinated travelers will still need to provide a negative PCR test result from no more than 72 hours prior to travel, have another test done at the airport, and then quarantine until those test results come back (up to 48 hours).

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from Canada will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering Grenada.

The isolation period can be shortened

7-day quarantine and COVID-19 testing on day 4 of the quarantine period.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Grenada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.


Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Grenada will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.

Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
