Lithuania entry details and exceptions

Travelers must complete a questionnaire and present the confirmation of the completed electronic form (QR code) to the carrier when boarding the vehicle.

Frontier workers and those crossing the border between the Republic of Lithuania and another European Union country every day or every working day (those travelling for work-related purpose, pupils, students and trainees) must complete a questionnaire once a month.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 48 hours before departing to Lithuania.


Children under the age of 16 and also those vaccinated or previously infected and now recovered are exempt from testing requirements.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from Canada will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering Lithuania.

The isolation period can be shortened

After 7 days of quarantine, travelers can get a test. If the test is negative, travelers do not need to quarantine further.

Details and exceptions

They must submit the results to the NVSC and await their permission to leave isolation before the end of the 10 day period.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Lithuania must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.


Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Lithuania will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.

Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.

Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
