Most international travelers are allowed to enter Nigeria. Some international flights to Lagos and Abuja have resumed.
Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 168 hours before departing to Nigeria.
Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test on day 7 after their arrival. Travelers must have booked and paid for this test on the Nigeria International Travel Portal. Evidence of the booking will be required on arrival. Travelers with travel history in Brazil, India or Turkey in the 14 days prior to arrival must take an additional COVID-19 PCR test within 24 hours after arrival.
Visitors from Canada will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering Nigeria.
Travelers are required to self-quarantine for 7 days on arrival. Travelers will also be required to take a COVID-19 test on day 7 after arrival. They must continue self-isolating until test results are received, usually between 24-48 hours.
Travelers returning from Nigeria must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to Canada.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.
Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.
Visitors returning from Nigeria will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.
Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.
Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.
Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
