Entry restrictions do not apply to Vietnamese citizens, approved official and diplomatic passport holders and their family members, approved essential categories of workers determined by the Government of Vietnam such as experts, investors and managers, and high-tech workers. A Health Declaration Form must be completed before arrival.
Visitors from Canada must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Vietnam.
Visitors from Canada will need to quarantine for 21 days upon entering Vietnam.
All travelers are subject to a 21-day quarantine and at a government-designated facility at their own expense. Quarantine period may be prolonged by Vietnamese authorities to more than 21 days without prior notice.

Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test, other exemptions includes, a crew member or a person who seeks to enter Canada only to become such a crew member, emergency service providers, technical stops – flights refueling.
Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival in Canada at their own expense. Travelers are also required to take another COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their 14-day quarantine. They will receive a COVID-19 test kit and instructions before leaving the airport/border. Those who refuse will receive a $750 fine.
Visitors returning from Vietnam will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Canada.
Travelers are subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, this includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel, at their own expense (approximately 2,000 CAD) and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival at their own cost.
Towards the end the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 test. they will be required to stay in their place of quarantine until they receive a negative test result.
Certain persons are exempt from the mandatory quarantine requirement when entering Canada for the purposes of performing an essential job or function as identified in the Order under the Quarantine Act. Exemption will be validated for each entry into Canada.
